Tilda Swinton is not new to entertainment. Born Katherine Matilda Swinton, the acclaimed British actress is best known for her portrayals as the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia series and the Ancient One in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, roles that have earned her several nominations and awards. Swinton has also certainly charted her own path within the fashion industry, with her stellar red carpet moments and collaborations with some of the biggest fashion houses.
Lensed by Thai photographer and visual artist Harit Srikhao and directed by film director and producer Apichatpong Weerasethakul for Vogue Thailand’s March ‘State of Art’ issue, the electric and graphic spread explores the intrinsic relationship that fashion has with art.
Here, Swinton is captured donning the latest offerings from the Chanel spring/summer 2024 collection, against cinematic backdrops of fantastical floral and fauna that speak to a reverie and tranquility that the house has long been known for. The result is an explosion of colour and expression, one that perfectly encapsulates both Swinton’s demeanour and creative director Virginie Viard’s vision for the season.
