The latest capsule collection from the historied French house sees an exclusive collaboration with American publishing powerhouse Marvel. Known for their countless comic bestsellers and chokehold on the superhero cinema scene, the entertainment giant is set to launch global lifestyle collection featuring a lin-up of coveted shoes and accessories for dedicated fans of the Marvel Universe.
Launched alongside the capsule collection is an exclusive comic series that spotlights a new “superhero”—none other than prolific designer and creative Christian Louboutin himself. The collaboration originated based off of Louboutin’s lifelong admiration
for Marvel, his authentic love of superheros and a mind that appreciated authentic storytelling and limitless fantasy. The 23-page-long comic strip sees bold sketches, animated typography and a one-of-a-kind storyline, offering consumers and immersive experience and the opportunity to embark on a visual adventure that seamlessly merges both worlds. This collaboration also catapults Marvel further into the luxury space, cementing itself as an organisation that can just about do it all.
Referencing iconic moments from Marvel’s hottest films, the limited-edition collection is inspired by three primary entities. Firstly, the infinity stones—that immediately spoke to Mr. Louboutin himself—are embedded onto the toecap of heels and the heels of boots. The second sees the scales of Namor, a premier character introduced into the Marvel universe, reimagine the placements of gemstones embellished on the straps of the footwear and hats. Lastly, the recent TV miniseries Moon Knight rounds up the collection, the superhero’s signature black and silver suit acting as the colour palette for several other statement pieces.
