Skye Hankey attended the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards with Oscar de la Renta’s co-creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim. Held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on 3 November, the ceremony brought together designers and industry figures from across fashion and entertainment to recognise achievements in American style.

Hosted by Teyana Taylor and presented by Amazon Fashion, the event opened with CFDA chairman Thom Browne welcoming guests. Over the course of the night, Ralph Lauren was named American Womenswear Designer of the Year, while Thom Browne received the American Menswear Designer of the Year award. The Row was honoured as American Accessory Designer of the Year and Pieter Mulier of Alaïa received the International Designer of the Year award. A$AP Rocky was presented with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award, a spotlight on his influence on contemporary style today.
Hankey, who has been closely linked with Oscar de la Renta in recent seasons, was photographed arriving and posing with Garcia and Kim on the red carpet. She wore a strapless Oscar de la Renta gown from the spring/summer 2026 collection, featuring a gold sequinned finish with three-dimensional floral detailing, which was highlighted by several outlets as one of the standout looks of the evening.

Her appearance with Garcia and Kim followed the house’s announcement that the duo will step down from their roles as co-creative directors to focus on their label Monse. Their final work for Oscar de la Renta will include a pre-fall 2025 collection marking the maison’s 60th anniversary and a fall/winter 2026 runway show.

Reflecting on the evening, Hankey said: “Fernando and Laura have been dear friends for many years, but this is the first time I’ve attended one of their work events outside of Fashion Week. To be by their side on such a meaningful night—celebrating their extraordinary chapter at Oscar de la Renta—felt both personal and historic.” With Garcia and Kim preparing their final collections for the house, Hankey’s presence at the CFDA Awards underlined her support at a key moment in their shared fashion story.
