London Fashion Week may be in full swing, but we can’t help but hark back to the past week in NYC. In full confidence, the Big Apple took us on a joyride, giving us a knockout opening slate to the spring/summer 2026 season. Ralph Lauren refreshed the wheel with crisp tailoring in a palette of red, white and black—mixed in with coastal elements of breezy shapes and shell pendants. In contrast, Michael Kors cajoled us into the desert with a sensual ease about his clothes: of draped fabrics done in an earthy, tonal palette. Meanwhile Calvin Klein saw Veronica Leoni experiment from her captain’s seat, with a number of chic, wearable silhouettes coming through, some flitting with the typical provocations you’d expect from the cult label.
Then there was Coach, which has swiftly risen the ranks in the past few seasons—to become one of the most anticipated shows of NYFW. Stuart Vevers deemed spring 2026 the right time for a reset, sending whites, creams and colours you think of when you see morning’s first light, down the runway—as a subtle contrast to the washed leathers and gritty, lived-in culture of his Coach.
Yet the week would not have been complete without its star-studded audience. Each season welcomes fresh faces to the fashion week circuit, a clear marker of how brands are repositioning themselves, and actively adapting to changing consumer markets. We’ve now grown accustomed to welcoming a sizable number of celebrity names at every show, and this NYFW proved no different. Unforgettable highlights include the stars of Calvin Klein’s front row, from Jungkook and Rosalía to Lily Collins and The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Christopher Briney. Coach also boasted a buzzy guest list, with brand darling Elle Fanning joining Soyeon of I-dle in witnessing Vevers’s magic for spring.
