For content-creator couple Nathaniel Fong and Relle Lai, their journey in this field started from a shared passion in sharing their outfits online. “At first, it was merely a fun hobby, as a way to showcase my style and passion for fashion,” shares Fong. “Surprisingly, brands started reaching out to collaborate, and it led to me realising how much untapped potential there was in connecting with your audience and building relationships with others.”
Now boasting close to 100k followers across their TikTok and Instagram platforms, Fong and Lai have quickly solidified themselves as tastemakers within the local fashion crowd. Lauded for their clean and refined aesthetics, their wardrobes are a seamless blend of preppy and chic, from It-brands such as Issey Miyake, Jacquemus and Birkenstock. Vintage garb pepper their everyday outfits, the perfect mix of old and new. “I always strive to strike a balance between feminine and masculine silhouettes, playing with colours and textures as they tend to elevate the overall look of the outfit whilst ensuring it remains cohesive,” shares Lai. “My wardrobe is a reflection of my values, and by extension, the way I approach life.”

Outside their effortless sense of style and acute eye for detail, the duo has also done numerous partnerships with popular home-grown labels such as Beyond The Vines, The Editor’s Market and Club21, even designing their own capsule collections for local brand AforArcade. “Collaborating with a brand that aligned closely with my personal ethos was a great opportunity, and having this hands-on experience allowed for me to grow creatively and transform my vision into reality,” mused Fong. Lai shared similar sentiments, noting that it provided her with first-hand insights into the blueprints of fashion design.
Fong and Lai also highlighted the importance of community-building through authenticity and forging a genuine connection with one’s audience. “It’s not just about posting pretty pictures—it’s about staying true to who you are,” notes Fong. Lai points out that with the fluid project schedules, striking a work-life balance is key. “It’s incredibly fast-paced, but can be fulfilling. I allow myself to take a step back and recharge from time to time, which is also essential in avoiding burnout.”
“Embark every new endeavor with vigour—staying curious, adaptable and resilient is key.”
Looking ahead, the duo is excited for things to come. With several new partnerships and personal projects in the pipeline, the future is bright for Fong and Lai. “At the end of the day, content creation all boils down to consistency,” notes Lai. “Embark every new endeavor with vigour—staying curious, adaptable and resilient is key because in many ways you’re on your own.”
