Last season, artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière took an introspective glance at French history and style, a return to the maison’s roots. The collection focused on how the local women dressed themselves, and saw minimal separates with subdued colour palettes and relaxed silhouettes. Fine details were present in the fabric choices and construction, from embossed printed leather to hand-painted denim adorned with sequins. The show was staged in a ballroom of the Musée d’Orsay, with an installation reminiscent of Parisian streets and custom soundtracks of honking cars and barking dogs.
This spring/summer 2024, Ghesquire is set to present his new collection at 103 avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, which boasts an oversized Monogram trunk installation exterior. The show was teased on the brand’s Instagram throughout the week, featuring voice notes from house ambassadors including Felix from Korean boyband Stray Kids, Sophie Turner and Jaden Smtih who will all be present at the show.
Once again, expect the maison’s signature accessories to be reinvented, with iconic handbags reimagined under the house’s emblematic codes. Structured outerwear, chic silhouettes and playful logo-mania will all be present—distinct design traits that have earned Ghesquière his stripes.
Below, tune in live to the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2024 show from Paris, happening on 2 October at 8.30pm SGT.
