With fashion week done and dusted in New York, all eyes shift towards London. The city has become a bustling hub for young designers over the years; a melting pot of creativity and self-expression. This season’s schedule is packed with excitement, with fashion week staples such as Molly Goddard, JW Anderson and Simone Rocha leading the way. Newer favourites from Harris Reed to Conner Ives—which made their mark last season—presented dynamic collections that fused signature house codes with dramatic theatrics. Headlining London Fashion Week this season, is none other than Daniel Lee‘s showing at Burberry, as the fashion world eagerly awaits his debut collection at the British heritage brand.
As for the showgoers, it seems a substantial number are leaning towards monochromatic ensembles. Through the first day, shades of black, red and browns are aplenty, with a tasteful mix of technical fabrics and bold patterns that have earned London its reputation for being experimental. Classic tailoring, double denim and leather outerwear keep denizens warm from the gloomy and chilly evenings, with statement bags and clutches rounding up the looks. The latest in headwear sees a return of the beanie, with several attendees spotting knitted numbers. On feet, it seems the loafer trend is here to stay, from classic business silhouettes to chunky platform variations. The unspoken theme appeared to be one of comfort and functionality, all while showcasing a hint of personal flair.
Below, focus your gaze on the best street style London Fashion Week has to offer, all captured by Phil Oh.
