Jonathan Anderson knows exactly how to make a splash on the runway. Throughout his career at Loewe over the years, he’s managed to send out thought-provoking collections; the spring/summer 2023 show for menswear last year saw the runway extend into a commentary about our ever-evolving relationship with nature and technology whilst the more recent fall/winter 2023 showing was a more distilled act—focused on the sensuality of the clothes we wear everyday. And perhaps with the Loewe men’s spring/summer 2024 show this time around, there will be a deeper dive into the themes he’s been toying around with.
The house’s recent Instagram teaser for the show in Paris showcases the maison’s logo completely rendered in water—temporarily refracting light before dispersing into an aquatic abyss again. Apart from the thematic parallels, it’s also always interesting to predict what sort of collaborations Anderson might opt for; each one so far always brings an unexpected yet joyous element to the show.
There is, of course, good reason to keep our eyes peeled to the front row. Apart from starry friends of the house and the maison’s regular esteemed guests, one highly-anticipated invite of the season would be NCT’s Taeyong—who has also just been appointed as the house’s global ambassador, after his appearance at its fall/winter 2023 show earlier this year. To be amongst the first to witness both the unveiling of the clothes and the celebrity attendees, tune into the livestream of Loewe’s men’s spring/summer 2024 show, happening live from Paris on Saturday, 24 June at 6PM SGT.
