It’s always an exciting affair waiting on a Jonathan Anderson show. Likewise, the sentiment is carried forward for his soon-to-be-seen Loewe men’s fall/winter 2023 collection—all set to be witnessed tonight at Paris Fashion Week.
For the maison’s past collections, much of Anderson’s work has dealt directly with the buzzy conversations happening around us; questioning the metaverse and its real-world impacts—a key social focus he wanted to tell through his clothes. At the spring/summer 2023 menswear presentation last June, his white-washed runway saw a juxtaposition of our hyper digital life against a collaborative range of growable garments—where plants were cultivated directly onto shoes and coats.
What then, might we expect to see at his show tonight? On Loewe’s latest Instagram post, the house sees its distinctive logo rendered in a lifelike, almost animalistic form—withering away whilst being submerged in a tank. And if we were to take Anderson’s experimental, thought-provoking inclinations into consideration, perhaps the collection’s teasers might already be indicative of the main subject he might attempt to discuss through his runway: the transient, unpredictable state of nature.

Whilst we can only make guesses at this point, we’re sure Anderson’s brilliantly tender capabilities at striking up a conversation through his clothes will shine through, rain or shine.
