Headed to the City of Light this holiday season? Chanel presents us with the ultimate gift: a personal invite to Le Grand Numéro de Chanel, an immersive fragrance exhibition at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris.
Free and open to the public from 15 Dec 2022 to 9 Jan 2023, the exhibition ushers guests into the emotive world of perfumes at the house. From the legendary Chanel N°5—undeniably the world’s most famous scent—to Gabrielle, Chance, and Chanel’s Les Exclusifs collection, which celebrates the life of founder Gabrielle Chanel, each fragrance captures the codes, craftsmanship and singularity of Chanel. Even a space dedicated to the head-turning men’s perfume, Bleu de Chanel, is set to leave guests inspired.
What to expect at the exhibition
“Le Grand Numéro de Chanel is a show, a return to reverie that is emotionally evocative on several levels. The idea is to let yourself indulge in daydreaming, to chart your own path as you travel from one universe to another,” shares Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Chanel’s head of global creative resources fragrance and beauty. “It is also a social experience, a time to share in the holiday spirit, and feels a bit like discovering the window displays of the Parisian department stores at Christmas time.”
Du Pré de Saint Maur hopes the experience will ignite curiosity about the “role a fragrance can play, how it can reveal the singularity of every individual and influence our vision of beauty. A fragrance is more than a name, a bottle, or a scent; it is also everything it brings to mind when we breathe it in, and all it evokes when we wear it. It is an extraordinary product.”
Indeed with the case of Chanel, sometimes the best accessory, is an invisible one.
