Maximilian Davis now sits assuredly at Ferragamo. He’s captured a certain audience ever since his debut two seasons past—and now we simply can’t wait to see what he brings to the table next. At his first show for the house, his runway saw a Neoclassical monastery awash in a fiery shade of scarlet (crystal) sand, hence communicating the message of rebirth and transformation for the maison. That same raging hue screams of unrivalled confidence and desire: preliminary notes you could glean from the design language of his garments.
As we sit in the midst of Milan Fashion Week, Davis’s spring/summer 2024 runway is poised for an unveiling soon. Should fall/winter 2023 serve as any point of reference, perhaps that same signature shade of crimson will shine on the runway once again—alongside a number of conversation-worthy It-bags and accessories. Ahead of the show today, the maison seems to have employed a septet of close-up imagery and detailed phrases describing exactly what one could anticipate from the Ferragamo spring/summer 2024 collection. Think deep, rich hues of espresso and forest green, delicious leathers and gold, ornate hardware.
