When it comes to luxury tequila, the legacy of Don Julio 1942 remains unmatched. Its place amongst the stylish and the glamorous is irreplaceable—an essential at the most exclusive after-parties, from Victoria Beckham’s show at Paris fashion week in 2022 to this year’s Oscars and BAFTAs.

Produced only in limited quantities to preserve its premium quality, Don Julio 1942 boasts robust flavour, unparalleled craftsmanship, and a distinctive status as a symbol of elegance and sophistication. Now, after 21 years, the revered spirit finally reaches the shores of Southeast Asia—and it’s making waves across the region.
Following an official regional launch at Marquee Singapore in June, Don Julio 1942 has been introduced in four other Southeast Asian countries—with lavish celebrations taking each launch to greater heights.

Its first stop: Manila. Taking over Blackbird at the Nielson Tower, the brand transformed the historic airport hangar into a sanctuary of luxurious experiences. From the Mexican-inspired dinner curated by Blackbird’s head chef to the vinyl-only set by DJ Badkiss and the robust cocktail menu created by Aly Lorenzo—the first female winner of World Class Philippines Bartender of the Year—every little detail in the event reflected Don Julio’s devotion to craftsmanship. Post-dinner, the restaurant transformed into the hottest bar in town for the after-party, with guests like actress Sarah Lahbati, model LA Aguinaldo and celebrity stylist Liz Uv amidst the crowd.

Bali, famed for its exhilarating nightlife and party culture, was Don Julio’s next stop. An enclave of luxury nestled amidst lush greenery and soaring limestone cliffs above the Indian Ocean, exclusive beach club Savaya proved a fitting venue for the launch of Don Julio 1942 in Indonesia—with DJ Gordo headlining the after-party. Personalities like model Tigris Valerie, creative director Axl Jowono and production director Amrit Punjabi graced the event, a testament to Don Julio’s prominence in Indonesia’s fashion and creative circles.

Following that, the launch of the premium tequila in Ho Chi Minh brought together 80 A-listers to the extravagant Atmos Club. As a delectable cocktail welcomed guests into the exclusive event, DJ Lost Frequencies—known for his slick production and a talent for melding many genres—captivated party-goers with hit single ‘Are You With Me’. To close the night, model and designer Thao Nhi Le took to a glitzy runway to commemorate the occasion.

In Bangkok, an extravagant celebration at the city’s first Latino-Nikkei bar Anaconda featured a tasting session of various celebrities’ favourite ways of enjoying Don Julio 1942. Attended by Thai stars like Ploy Chermarn and Jaylerr, the launch was followed by an explosive after-party at the world-class Levels Club, where revellers were treated to a thrilling set by DJ Pink Panda.
Closer to home, the tequila house also celebrated International Tequila Day with a gorgeous sundown party at Cé La Vi. Thrown in partnership with Vogue Singapore, the event was attended by key tastemakers like Mae Tan and Sonia Chew. Against panoramic views of Marina Bay at sunset, guests toasted to the grand occasion with champagne flutes of Don Julio 1942, as a roving Glambot captured slow-motion videos of impeccably-dressed attendees for the perfect photo-op.

Most momentous of all, Don Julio partnered with Marquee Singapore—one of the most premium nightclubs on the island—to throw the first-ever Marquee Utopia, a brand new resident night ushering in the electrifying era of the future rave genre.
Launched at the event, LED bracelets—distributed to all partygoers—synchronised with the powerful beats of resident DJ Zippy’s set, flashing vibrant colours in unison to heighten the invigorating atmosphere. The result? A fully immersive night of celebrations, with guests forging new connections and making memories that will last a lifetime.

It’s safe to say that Don Julio has mastered the art of throwing a lavish party. The brand’s extraordinary events thus far have been a steadfast testament to its commitment towards pushing the boundaries of monumental celebrations.
