At the height of the holiday season, we find ourselves completely wrapped up in the joys of the occasion. Streets bedecked in Christmas lights, laughter and cheer at the dining table over a festive feast, and of course, unwrapping cherished gifts from loved ones, hoping to strike an item off your wishlist.
Gifting is an art. The act of being in the recipient’s shoes and tactfully predicting something they’d like is a skill that is deceptively simple. There are many factors to consider: personal preferences, lifestyle habits, and perhaps the deciding factor, price point. With endless options available in stores and online shopping available at our fingertips, getting a gift could very well send us into a spiralling descent. That’s where a wishlist comes in. A clear and simple list of what one might need, or desire, to find under the tree. Problem solved. Now all that’s left is to cart it out and finish with a bow on top.
But if the sky’s the limit, one can’t help but dream of what we’d wake up to come Christmas morning. All is fair in love and war—and wishlists. If you’re still in need of some gifting inspiration, peruse the Vogue Singapore team’s Christmas wishlist of what they’d like to receive this season.

Christmas wishlist pick: A vintage Vogue issue
“Despite the ease of getting information online, there’s still nothing like escaping into a luxurious print item for hours at a time. I enjoy collecting back issues of my favourite magazines, and a British Vogue edition that captures the Swinging ’60s zeitgeist has been on my wishlist for years. A (worthy) investment for sure!”

Christmas wishlist pick: Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend T-shirt
“I’m not greedy this Christmas! I would like a piece of Conan O’Brien to have and hold—a T-shirt from his Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend merchandise. Ideally, throw in a visit to Singapore for his travel series Conan O’Brien Must Go! and I’m all set.”

Christmas wishlist pick: Mementos from Choosing Keeping
“My dream Christmas gift would be a curated stack from Choosing Keeping, a magical London stationery shop I’ve recently stumbled upon online. An Italian‑made leather journal, a handful of delicate hand‑drawn cards and a beautiful urushi pen—with each piece chosen just for me.”

Christmas wishlist pick: G-Dragon’s original cover art for ‘Act III: Untitled 2014’
“If the sky’s the limit, this would be it. Christmas comes with a heavy dose of reminiscing for me, and nothing screams that more than GD’s original art piece used as the cover art for his heartbreaking ballad, ‘Untitled, 2014’. Other than the chance to own an artwork from my favourite artist ever, it’s a raw, beautiful portrait of love, longing and yearning—sealed with a kiss.”

Nurul Firdousee, fashion features writer
Christmas wishlist pick: A Blythe doll
“I’ve been seeing different versions of them online and they’re hauntingly beautiful in the sweetest way. The best part is that you can even get them customised down to the hair, eyes and even skin colour—like a mini-me situation.”

Christmas wishlist pick: Braun Atelier 1 Komponent hifi system
“For me, the first sign of Christmas isn’t the lights going up or the presents underneath the Christmas tree; it’s all about the Christmas songs!”
