To truly transform into your chosen character, however, is where your make-up skills come into play. Doing the heavy lifting every spooky season are your foundations, eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks—this year, bring out your warm-toned browns and reds for the look that’s trending: Bambi make-up.
While louder prints like leopard and zebra remain a steady favourite of the zeitgeist, the deer-inspired print is making its debut as a soft neutral. Mimicking Disney’s Bambi, the look varies from liberal interpretations—à la caramel bronzers, light blushes and autumn lip glosses—to quite literally turning one’s face into that of the fawn, complete with white spots and a brown nose.

If the intensely terrifying Halloween options aren’t exactly up your alley, consider transforming into a doe-eyed deer. Key elements of the look include a golden-brown, toasty eyeshadow with a lighter shade or white eyeshadow to cut the crease. To create an autumnal glow, a heavy hand on the bronzer is welcome—blush, however, is applied quite minimally in comparison. Finish off with a chocolate brown lip, circle on those white spots with any of your easy liners or eyeshadows, and add a spot of brown at the tip of your nose to mimic that of a deer’s.
