Augustinus Bader The Vitamin C Serum
Sunscreen’s important, and it works even better with a good dose of vitamin C. Augustinus Bader’s patented TFC8 technology delivers a highly stable form of vitamin C and ergothioneine deep into the skin, allowing for more effective absorption and fortified defense against free radical damage. On my face, the lightweight formula sinks in quickly—I let it work its magic while I do my brows, then follow up with sunscreen. After just three weeks of use, it brightened my face and evened out the dullness in my complexion. Surprisingly, it’s even been keeping the oil in my T-zone at bay. — Aileen Liang, beauty writer

Tom Ford Figue Private Blend
Mr. Ford has done it again. The American luxury house has dropped yet another scent oozing with sensuality and mystique—except this time with fig as a core ingredient. And not just any fig, mind, but Kadota fig accord which is exclusive to the label. According to perfumer Shyamala Maisondieu, it “has a rawness that is irresistible, but elevated.” The apt description translates when applied onto the skin as well; a layered fragrance which starts out with a verdant note before easing into something rich and bursting with blooms. For fans of the other perfumes within Tom Ford’s comprehensive range, rejoice in the knowledge that it plays excellently with said concoctions as well. A personal favourite: a delicate fusion of the Figure Private Blend and the Bitter Peach Eau de Parfum. — Emily Heng, beauty editor
Tom Ford Figue Private Blend, $1,470 for 100ml, available at Tom Ford Beauty counters in Tangs, Takashimaya and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

Some eyeliners really can do it all. Pigmented, transfer- and smudge-proof, this heavy duty gel liner has been working wonders for my lash line these days. With the chocolate brown shade, lining and defining the eyes almost feels too effortless—one swipe is all it takes. The gel pencil also comes with a precision sponge tip that comes in handy when dealing with shaky lines. Hermès Plein Air Luminous Matte Skincare Foundation
Matte is back, baby. Or at least, Hermès’s version of it. Unlike the heavier, cakier finishes found in the matte variants popularised around the early aughts, the maison prefers a rendition that is more skin-like than anything. Its light-as-air formula blends like a dream—as someone who likes utilising fingers over brushes, I am delighted to report that a single layer grants a sufficient amount of coverage for light imperfections. Go in with a heavier hand to conceal redness, preferably with the brand’s Le Perfecteur Brush that comes with a precisely tapered shape to reach even the smallest nooks and crannies of your visage. The cherry on top: its long-lasting capabilities that go up to 16 hours. — Emily Heng, beauty editor

Chanel Rouge Noir Confidence
Anything but sweet. Chanel’s Rouge Noir Confidence might be a four-palette of pinks, but it leans more towards soft-goth than it does girlish. Think mauves, sienna reds and the like; a bold exploration of colour that can be worn on both the lids and cheeks. For a perfect flush, amalgamate the shimmer-finish pink hue with the light plum, and top it off with a touch of the illuminating rose gold on the high points of your visage. The cherry on top: its long-lasting staying power. Pair it with just a hint of setting spray and watch it stay on—smudge-free, I might add—for over eight hours. — Emily Heng, beauty editor
