As a self-professed perfume beginner, I was admittedly intimidated to try this latest addition to the Burberry Her family, which promises to be a bolder, more daring iteration of the original Her Eau de Perfum. Fortunately, what greeted me at first spritz was a girlishly sweet strawberry-infused blend, along with a touch of energising orange blossom that kept things light and fresh. Stronger hints of its citrus notes and a subtle woodiness slowly emerge throughout the day which, dare I say, makes this scent even better over time. The efficacy of supplements is a topic that remains hotly contested, but it’s safe to say that I have found several that have earned a spot in my arsenal. It’s safe to say that this cult-favourite K-Beauty product has rightfully earned its stripes. Touted as a skin-brightening and rejuvenating serum spray hybrid, this lightweight emulsion also provides a hefty dose of hydration that holds up in even the most tempestuous of climates. Not only did it shield my skin from the strong winds in Fukuoka, it also brought down the inflammation from my travel-induced breakout. This is likely attributed to its highly-nourishing ingredient list that boasts deeply-moisturising white truffle extract, complexion-soothing chia seed extract, as well as anti-inflammatory avocado oil. The pencil also comes equipped with a built-in sharpener and smudger, with the latter allowing for a smoked out effect when the mood calls for it. Glow Recipe Cloudberry Bright Moisture Cream
With skin that errs towards the dry side, selecting just one moisturiser for my holidays back home (in Australia, aka dry heat central) could’ve proved an arduous task. But thankfully this brand new cream from Glow Recipe, a cult favourite, had just arrived on my desk. A fortnight later, I couldn’t be happier with my pick—its whipped, emollient formula is reminiscent of body butter, albeit a lightweight one. It melts into the skin seamlessly and leaves my skin feeling hydrated throughout the day without being clogged in the slightest. The cloudberry scent is delicious and transportive, while the antioxidant-rich properties of the fruit itself and peptide lipids lock in moisture and smoothing.
