Since his start at Bottega Veneta, creative director Matthieu Blazy has had the gargantuan task of keeping up with the hype of its luxuriously contemporary offerings. It’s safe to say that he has delivered without a hitch. For spring/summer 2023, Kate Moss walked the runway in a flannel shirt that required 12 layers of printing. She was joined by an assortment of leather denim, cotton shirts and lots of unassuming flannel, a feat Blazy described as “perverse banality”. The icing on the top was a runway set designed by Italian architect Gaetano Pesce, whose launching pad was the idea of diversity.
Now that Blazy has set the precedence for what is to be expected at a Bottega Veneta experience, we can only look forward to an equally technical and refined showing—lined with a healthy dose of celebrity and public adoration. Below, catch the Bottega Veneta fall/winter 2023 show below on Sunday, 26 February, 3.00am (SGT).
