Next up on the eventful calendar for Paris Fashion Week: Maison Valentino, with its spring/summer 2024 collection. The house has undoubtedly seen a fruitful era for itself, from its ubiquitous Valentino Pink PP collection to reigning as a notable favourite within the celebrity sphere. Case in point: creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s custom atelier stage looks for pop behemoths like Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Suga of BTS, demonstrating Valentino’s finesse for molto elegante.
The maison sure did not let up with its fall/winter 2023 collection, primarily themed on black tie. Inspired by his teenage daughter’s outfit choice for a night out, where she raided his closet for a tailored suit. Piccioli re-imagined archetypes and celebrated individualism, imbuing a typically formal dress code with a youthful and rebellious energy. The runway saw sharp cut suit-and-tie ensembles with a with a Neo-punk twist as models donned chunky earrings, tattoos and heavy boots.
Titled Valentino L’Ecole, the spring/summer 2024 show will explore the “lively liberation of the body, and the clothes that uplift it”, as expressed by the house. Expect to see the faces of the brand in attendance, such as Florence Pugh, Chinese actor Yang Yang and model Kaia Gerber, who starred in Valentino’s Black Tie campaign.
