In case you somehow missed it: Taylor Swift is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. While the whispers have been swirling for a little while now, Swift enthusiastically watched Sunday’s game in Missouri against the Chicago Bears from Kelce’s box. She cheered him on alongside his mother, and enjoyed chicken with ketchup and “seemingly ranch,” as one fan outlet reported.
On his podcast, Kelce explained how he tried to shoot his shot with the singer when Swift stopped at Arrowhead Stadium during her Eras Tour. “I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Kelce said of friendship bracelets, a symbol of community traded by Swifties at concerts. While he didn’t get a chance to give Swift his digits, word clearly got back to her.
While Swift rocked an unreleased Chiefs windbreaker in the team’s signature red and white colours, Kelce supported his rumoured girlfriend in an unexpected sartorial way, too. The singer and the footballer left the stadium together, her in her spirited fit (and cute mini Louis Vuitton bag), and him in a white denim jacket and pants decorated with painted blue figures.
Of course, nothing that Swift has anything to do with is unintentional, including her beau’s look. The set, from brand KidSuper Studios, is called the “1989,” the name of Swift’s upcoming re-released album. Coincidence? We think not. It’s also worth noting that Taylor Swift’s 1989 is associated with light blue, as seen on Kelce’s look.
Although she took a break to rep Kelce’s team colours, Swift has been on a blue kick herself. From the pastel Erdem dress she wore to Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff’s wedding, to the Alaïa minidress she rocked on a night out with friends, Taylor Swift is making a strong argument for light blue as the colour of the season. Though if she and Kelce stick together, we should get used to seeing her in red.
