Reimagining outdoor styles for the modern customer, the Tommy Hilfiger fall/winter 2023 collection took references from the brand’s rich history, further exploring its heritage styles and archival silhouettes. Trademark designs are deconstructed and revived, whilst encompassing the distinctive preppy style that earned Tommy Hilfiger its success.
The overarching ethos for this collection seemed to be the innovative approach to fabric and texture, witnessed in the textured brush wool and delicate alpaca-blended knits. There was also denim infused with velvet flocking, another interesting melding of contrasting textiles.
Outerwear was a focal point for this collection, constructed from a wide array of fabrics and patterns. Supple calfskin graced shearling jackets and a updated peacoat. Tommy Hilfiger’s signature design motifs—the Tommy tartan, global strip and TH monogram—are present through the collection as well, albeit in reconfigured sizes and juxtaposed against the season’s standout colour, a bold cerulean blue.
In-line with the collection, an exclusive campaign by the brand sees prolific names in entertainment come together in a global celebration. Titled the ‘Always Together ‘campaign, the Asia-Pacific region features popular South Korean boy band Stray Kids, whose music has set U.S. Billboard records. Photographed in a series of cheery images donning some of the most coveted garments from the latest season, the eight members of the group—Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.—are set against the backdrop of traditional Korean home settings. The images aim to create a setting in which non-traditional casts—representing family groups—come together to enjoy each other’s company, away the pressures of daily life.
Outside of Asia, R&B pop icon SZA and American record producer Quincy Jones also grace the Tommy Hilfiger campaign, each bringing a different and distinct demographic of fans. Similar to Stray Kids, these trailblazers are also capture in their natural elements, lensed to portray the richness of their personalities, interactions and environments. The result is a melting pot of friendship, culture and intimacy, with a shared joy for all things Tommy Hilfiger.
