Tonight, the 2023 SAG Awards will honour the best film and television performances of the year. This time around, the 29th annual awards ceremony—which kicks off live at 8 p.m. ET—is being held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California. There will be no host for the event, which has been the case for the SAGs for the past three years. As for the evening’s top nominees? It’s the leading actors and actresses who have already been sweeping up awards season: Michelle Yeoh, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, Brendan Fraser, Austin Butler, and Colin Farrell.
This awards season has already delivered some memorable style moments—like when Cate Blanchett re-wore and reworked a Margiela gown at the BAFTAs—so expect to see stars continue embracing their best, glitziest evening wear tonight. Compared to the Golden Globes or Oscars, the SAG Awards are typically a red carpet event where stars have a little more fun and stray from tradition. Last year, highlights from the step and repeat included Hoyeon Jung’s bejeweled Louis Vuitton gown, Ariana DeBose’s hot-pink Valentino couture dress, and Sandra Oh’s sparkly silver Carolina Herrera design.
