It has been an eventful first half of the year. From the Grammys to the Met Gala, red carpet events have been occurring at an all-time high after an unwelcome lull due to the pandemic. It seems like the glitz and glam might be finally returning to regular programming. The latest red carpet spectacle? The 75th Cannes Film Festival.
From 17 to 28 May, the Cannes Film Festival celebrates both theatrics and cinematography through some of the buzziest film releases and premieres such as Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, David Cronenberg’s Crimes Of The Future, and coming-of-age story Armageddon Time. And as usual, the event comes with a slew of visually arresting outfits from the likes of Lori Harvey, Eva Longoria, Julianne Moore, and Katherine Langford. Deepika Padukone also debuts as a jury member for this year’s Cannes alongside Jury president Vincent Lindon,
And with the first day behind us, the spectacle did not disappoint. Actress Rebecca Hall was decked out in custom Gucci, and YouTube personality Liza Koshy shone with a white toga gown dotted with rainbow specks from Tony Ward. Padukone gave a special nod to her Indian heritage by donning an ornate one-shouldered couture sari by Sabyasachi. Bollywood star Hina Khan also dressed to impress with a dazzling ensemble from Bibi London, and Tamannaah Bhatia gave new meaning to a classic silhouette with a dramatic black and white peplum gown from Gauri and Nainika.
