Cheers to five years! There was only one place to be over the weekend—and it was at the Next In Vogue Gala 2025 at the newly-opened Weave at Resorts World Sentosa. It was all the more special this year too; not only was it a celebration of the third iteration of our landmark affair, it was also the moment we raised our glasses to half a decade for Vogue Singapore. This year’s Next In Vogue, centred around ‘The Year of the Reset’ was all about looking inward, and turning towards the region’s rich tapestry of fashion and cultural influences to really glean the growing impact of Southeast Asia’s station as a rising player in the global fashion economy. This was something exemplified through 2025’s Vogue Closet, which saw a breathtaking, considered showcase of works by nine Southeast Asian designers, from Adeline Esther and Toton Januar to Kel Wen of Behati and Kavita Thulasidas.
This notably continued into gala night as well. Tethered to the theme of ‘Rituals and Radiance’, the dress code was subsumed in a moodboard that painted our region’s traditions and cultures anew, disempowering the illusion that heritage cannot co-exist with modernity. As Prabal Gurung said it best during his Next In Vogue Conversations panel: ”It’s time that the West meets the East.”
Just one glance at the carpet of the 2025 Next In Vogue Gala was telling enough; our esteemed guests clearly understood the assignment. All around, it was a celebration of the region’s best. A slew of invitees decidedly wore the Southeast Asian designers they connected with best, like Mond Gutierrez who wore his Filipino heritage with pride in a Rajo Laurel ensemble. Meanwhile, style savant Willabelle Ong slipped into a bulbous jade gown from Adeline Ester Couture, and Tabitha Nauser willed herself to pay homage to her Indian heritage through a gorgeous saree from By Elora, an Australia-based Indian luxury bridalwear brand.
And the spectacular fashion just kept coming. Below, a look at the evening’s best-dressed folks.
