German luxury manufacturer Montblanc has long been challenging norms while maintaining a level of status and luxury. Synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship and polished designs, the brand is frequently lauded for its fine pens, small leather goods and watches, all of which incorporates the highest grade materials that reflect the savoir faire and attention to detail of the ateliers.
Tapping back into the prolific heritage of the maison, the brand recently launched a new line that further drives its mission to create timeless wardrobe staples for men. Dubbed the “Montblanc Soft collection”, practical styles are introduced in elegant silhouettes, displaying a reconceived idea of travel and adventure. Pleasing hues of dusty grey, light brick, spicy orange and Socttish green are displayed, topped off with ebony black that is soon to be the house’s signature shade. Functional elements that are traditionally tucked in the interior—such as pocket sleeves—are placed on the outside, creating distinctive 3-D pockets that adds texture and depth to the pieces.
The soft collection shares similar design codes to Montblanc Meisterstück, the maison’s signature business line that sees deluxe leather accessories fit for the corporate grind. The Meisterstück line is being reintroduced with updated silhouettes on older classics, combining new fabrics and leathers that balances functionality with finesse. All items are reconstructed with improved ergonomics, fit for hand-carrying to and from business meetings. Large leather goods such as a bowling bag and backpack are offered in a newly-engineered leather with a texture that resembles tree bark, in shades of oak and jet. A unique modularity system allows for the smaller accessories such as envelope pouches to be attached on the back of the bowling bag, boasting convenience.
