Titled ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A line of Beauty’, this year’s annual ball serves as tribute to the late designer, who helmed fashion houses such as Chanel and Fendi over the span of his illustrious career.

Meanwhile, husband Keith Urban stepped aside to let Nicole Kidman have a well-deserved moment of glory in a Karl Lagerfeld-era archival Chanel haute couture gown from 2004—the same dress she wore in an iconic Chanel No. 5 commercial directed by Baz Luhrmann that year.
