Louis XIII prides itself on being visionary in every sense of the word. Its brand statement—‘think a century ahead’—has guided the acclaimed cognac house since its historic origin in the 1700s, giving rise to momentous ideas that reflect utmost foresight. Louis XIII’s latest release, The Drop, perfectly encapsulates this.
Bold and innovative, The Drop is a groundbreaking new take on Louis XIII’s uniquely aromatic cognac—1cl of liquid gold packaged into a chic, wearable bottle. It takes the iconic spirit, infuses it with a dose of spontaneity, and presents it in a stylish new pocket-sized format that lends itself to a carefree epicurean lifestyle.
All the while, the signature flavour of the cognac, carefully recreated each year using a blend of different eaux-de-vie from the exceptional grapes grown in Grande Champagne, is preserved.
To celebrate the launch of The Drop in Singapore, Louis XIII will present its first-ever immersive retail experience in Southeast Asia. Held at Design Orchard, the centre of Singapore’s fashion scene, the momentous four-week pop-up invites guests to immerse themselves in the heart of the brand through interactive augmented reality experiences and personalised crafting stations.
There, for purchase as either an individual bottle or a collectible set of five, The Drop will be available in five covetable designs: Make It Loud in red, Make It Glow in gold, Make It Bold in vine, Make It Smooth in clay and Make It Bright in sand. There are no rules when it comes to The Drop—it gives everyone the chance to enjoy Louis XIII whenever, wherever and however they want. It enables tastemakers to shape their own personal experiences with the rich spirit according to their moods and impulses.
Designed for a free-spirited new generation, The Drop is a means of individuality and self-expression—how you see it is a reflection of who you are. A unique leather bottle case accompanies the item, transforming it into a wearable accessory that redefines the boundaries of fashion. A style statement that speaks volume, it represents the unique intersection of luxury The Drop stands in.
Three rooms make up the innovative Louis XIII pop-up experience. Start your journey in the Immersive Room, which will take you through the essence of The Drop, before continuing on to The Drop Room. Amidst an exciting display of the new item and its accessories, find an augmented reality filter created in partnership with Vogue Singapore that will allow you to virtually don The Drop for some added fashion flair. A gifting table awaits, as well as a workshop station dedicated to helping you personalise The Drop’s leather bottle case.
The Louis XIII Room features the brand’s full range of products for purchase. For the first time in Southeast Asia, service items such as the Louis XIII crystal glass and spear—which can be used to refill The Drop from a classic decanter—will be available, alongside rare products such as the 6L Mathusalem. A virtual reality corner comes focused on some of Louis XIII’s most significant spaces, from le Domaine du Grollet to the cellars.
For true cognac connoisseurs and fans of Louis XIII, an exclusive tasting session is also available at the pop-up. Priced at $238 for 1cl and $476 for 2cl, guests will get to sample the luxurious spirit and see the spear in action—drawing and delivering the cognac from a decanter.
To end your visit, two local artists add a distinctive Singaporean touch to the event as brand ambassadors with their own personal interpretations of The Drop’s ‘Make It Yours’ tagline. Expect exciting performances by dance duo ScRach MarcS on 9 and 16 December, along with an impressive mural by street artist Tobyato that will be revealed at the opening of the pop-up and remain there for visitors to explore.
The Louis XIII pop-up will run from 3 December 2022 to 1 January 2023.
