As unreal as his clothes may sometimes be, Jonathan Anderson has a picture-perfect understanding of what women really want in their wardrobes. Throughout his tenure at Loewe, the Irish-born designer has been relentless in his pursuit for absurdity—expanding our imagination for wearable clothes. The two seasons past have been telltale enough. Last spring was when we saw those ultra, ultra high-waisted pants debut on the runway, and the fall/winter 2024 show was an immaculate cornucopia of swallow-tailed coats, those cutaway belt dresses and more splashy floral prints made to feel fresh in their delivery.
With the Loewe spring/summer 2025 show set to unfurl in Paris soon, there’s certain assurance that Anderson will execute his knack for subversion once again. If we were to hazard a guess? Perhaps today, the designer will take us back to a different time: of simpler beauties. In the brand’s pre-show teaser, a carousel of ideas clue us in. Bach’s violin sonata. Snippets of nature. 1846, the year Loewe was born. But to know Anderson’s ethos is to know that the element of surprise always sits at the core of a Loewe collection.

So we wait. Meanwhile, the streets outside the show have begun to fill up, with hoards of avid fans waiting to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars who will be attending the show today. Anderson’s current favourite muses will surely be among the lot, such as Taylor Russell, Greta Lee, Baifern, Drew Starkey and Yang Mi. Elsewhere, S.Coups of Seventeen is also set to make his fashion week debut, after previously in attendance at the Loewe store opening in Seoul.
Below, tune into the Loewe spring/summer 2025 show happening live from Paris on Friday, 27 September at 530PM SGT.
