Fashion has grown increasingly democratic over the years. Coupled with the effects of an ongoing pandemic, our attitudes toward dressing ourselves have changed. Loungewear has become the de facto all-day, every-occasion uniform, moving out of the confines of the home and onto the streets. In line with Gen Z’s focus on agency, autonomy and acceptance, the focus has shifted towards wearing what one wants, regardless of expectations, gender and labels—an attitude that Les Girls Les Boys x Yoox embodies perfectly.
Created in collaboration with Serena Rees, founder and creative director of London-based lingerie and streetwear label Les Girls Les Boys, the capsule collection features a wide range of casual, everyday wardrobe staples. Think: sweatshirts, T-shirts, underwear, track bottoms and pyjamas.
Designed to be worn by anyone and everyone, the capsule collection is entirely gender-fluid. Options come primarily in gender-neutral solid colours, from white, black and brown to Gen Z-approved khaki green and salmon pink. For those into logomania, a trend that dominated the autumn/winter 2021 collections, the capsule includes T-shirts emblazoned with an overlapping Les Girls Les Boys logo. Sweatshirts and hoodies feature a more discreet logo printed on the left sleeve, and can be worn for any occasion; the choice is entirely up to you.
For the more adventurous crowd, turn to the printed options in the collection. The line-up includes an on-trend, matching pyjamas set with pink and green stripes. Whether dressed up or down, these pyjamas will look just as chic whether worn in or out of the bedroom, and can be easily layered with other pieces within the capsule. There’s also a green leopard print sweater that is casual enough to be worked seamlessly into any wardrobe.
The capsule collection also comes in sizes ranging from XS to XXL, and is meant to flatter every body shape and type. The campaign features an ensemble cast, including the trailblazing plus-sized model, Precious Lee, who has been an unapologetically vocal advocate for racial and size diversity within the fashion industry.
With an array of separates that can be matched together, worn apart and styled however you choose, Les Girls Les Boys x Yoox speaks to the importance of diversity and inclusivity. More importantly, the capsule collection celebrates individuality, finding comfort in being oneself and accepting others for who they are.
Les Girls Les Boys x Yoox is available on Yoox from 14 October 2021. Scroll below to see Vogue Singapore’s edit of the key pieces to snap up from the collection.
