Harry Styles has made a career out of delighting our senses—sight, sound—and now we can smell like the superstar singer. The former US Vogue cover star is set to release a debut collection of fragrances with his brand, Pleasing.
The freshly shorn singer hosted a party in London Monday night, bringing together a starry guest list to celebrate the scent. Don’t expect notes of watermelon sugar here. The trio of scents—named Bright, Hot; Closeness and Rivulets—are sophisticated yet feel correct for Styles’s easygoing vibe. This comes as no surprise as the fragrances were formulated with the help of Jérôme Epinette, the nose behind wonders like Byredo’s Sundazed and Slow Dance, and Off-White’s Solution No 2 and No 4.
Rivulets, which comes in a blue and red bottle à la the ‘As It Was’ jumpsuits, is described as “a delightful encounter with a stranger. Strolling, wandering, floating like tiny specks caught dancing in the slanting light.” It is made with notes of skin musk, amber, lemon and white linen. The bright sunshine (and yellow ensemble) seen in the video for Styles’s track ‘Golden’ would pair well with the woody-amber Bright, Hot, which has notes of plum, tobacco, vanilla and the ocean. And as for Closeness, you’ll find notes of cashmere wood, salted musk, and cardamom, recalling the sexy lyrics of ‘Music for a Sushi Restaurant’.
The packaging is equally considered: the bottle dances a bit, thanks to its curved bottom, another nod to Styles’s unstoppable onstage energy.

Would it be a Harry Styles event without a nod to clothing? The singer’s fragrance collection will be followed by a drop of knit sweaters (the Swan version is seen on Styles in the main image), which will available to shop from 1 December on Pleasing’s website. Care to shop it IRL? There will pop-ups around world: including at the Selfridges Corner Shop in London from today.
