“I used to hate it whenever people asked me to describe my style,” confesses Fiona Fussi. While the model, actress and host didn’t know how to respond to the question at the start of her career, she now exudes an air of self-assurance when posed a similar query.
“After 10 years in the industry, I’ve worn and tried enough things to know what I like and don’t like,” Fussi shares. Eschewing anything too feminine, flowy or floral, the self-professed sneakerhead prefers casual wear, turning to athleisure and denim as wardrobe staples.
While comfort is key for Fussi, she doesn’t compromise on fashion and style. With a preference for outfits that can transition easily from day to night or across activities, Fussi has nailed the art of dressing any look up or down, and to suit any occasion.
In collaboration with Raffles City Singapore, Fussi gives Vogue Singapore a peek into how she dresses for every day of the week here.
Monday: Castings

When it comes to casting outfits, Fussi sticks to a tried-and-tested formula of a fitted black top and jeans. Having a go-to uniform means she can play around with more stylish choices. Case in point: this three-quarter sleeve Maje top with shoulder cut-outs and button-fly jeans.
To finish off the look, Fussi amps things up with gold accessories, and a cute and compact bag—one that is big enough to house her essentials (read: snacks and lip balm) without weighing her down over a busy day.
Tuesday: On-set

Much of Fussi’s week involves long days on-set—the norm for a model, actor and host. For such days, she favours button-down options like this white shirtdress from COS. As any model can attest to, not only are button-downs comfortable, they’re also easier to change in and out of without ruining your hair and make-up.
Wednesday: Meetings and work events

Fussi’s preference for outfits that transition easily from day to night resonates the most on days when she has to flit from meetings to evening events. One of her favourite styling hacks to dress up a casual outfit is to throw on a well-tailored blazer to look put-together.
Another key point: a strategic, unexpected flash of skin. While a cropped top makes for an obvious choice, Fussi also looks out for interesting alternatives like these bermuda shorts from Shanghai Tang with slits at the back—a smart detail that adds an element of glamour and sex appeal.
Thursday: Gym

An easy way to elevate your gym look? “Try a matching set,” advises Fussi, who often slots workout sessions in on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As a fan of athleisure because it’s comfortable and easy to wear, this Tommy Hilfiger set with a matching bucket hat lets her show off her love for autumnal and earthy colours at the same time.
Friday: Night out with girlfriends

Come Friday, it’s time to go out for dinner and drinks with her friends. “I tend to go for something sexy and playful, a little more daring,” she muses. One of Fussi’s sartorial rules is the art of balance. Think: pairing a short and shimmery dress with a boxy tailored jacket and a pair of black boots to add an edge to an otherwise feminine outfit.
Saturday: Off-duty

On weekends, comfort is key for Fussi. “I’m one of those people who could live in denim shorts,” she declares.
A long cardigan elevates an otherwise relaxed look. Paired with a baseball cap and sneakers, along with charming beaded necklaces that remind her of the jewellery she has been making with her friends recently, Fussi is all set to go cafe-hopping or for her favourite meal, dim sum.
Sunday: Gallery hopping

“Proportion is really important to me,” Fussi emphasises when we discuss her style. “I don’t like it when everything is either too tight or too baggy. I like balance in any outfit.” Here, she counters the oversized fit of her blazer with a fitted blue turtleneck and a pair of bootcut jeans. Lastly, a statement bag, such as this Kate Spade New York apple bag, adds a quirky pop to her outfit.
Fussi’s sporty and cool-meets-casual aesthetic consists of elevated basics paired often with statement pieces. Everything she’s wearing in the looks above are available at Raffles City Singapore.
