Ferragamo’s new dance-inspired shoe capsule is en pointe

French actor and director Jean-Louis Barrault believed that “Dancing means using our bodies to discover the very essence and spirit of life; it means making physical contact with freedom.” Much like dance, fashion is both a reflection of, and an escape from, reality. And, reality now encapsulates both a hankering for freedom of movement as well as a cautious optimism that we are inching closer to that ideal.

With its finger on the cultural zeitgeist, Ferragamo has woven the two mediums together in its Let’s Dance shoe collection, offering just the footwear you need for dancing down the streets and through life. 

There is a lace-up and moccasin, each made with elastic inserts for extra flexibility; strappy sandals with an eye-catching mirrored heel inspired by an archival model; classic ballet flats with a metal buckle and logo; pumps with chunky heels and lasered geometric cut-outs in the side; and ankle boots crafted from buttery soft nappa leather. 

The shoes are available in classic shades like black and tan, and for those with more adventurous tastes, you can get the footwear in bright hues like yellow, lipstick red, orange, gold, and silver with a dégradé effect. You can even take things one step further by opting for micro-rhinestone and glitter detailing, which promise to make the wearer take centre stage.

But the exuberant designs are not the only stand-out feature of this capsule.
