Boss SS25
Show review in a line: Classic-meets-casual creations that meld the worlds of style and functionality
Designer: Marco Falcioni
Location: Palazzo Senato
The vision: Kicking off day two was Thai actor and singer Mew on the grass-laden runways of Boss at Palazzo Senato, Milan. The brand is no stranger to having celebrities model its latest creations, and the buzz for this particular collection was monumental. Heavyweights like Naomi Campbell have joined the brand’s lineups before, but this year, David Beckham ignited a blaze—concurrently setting the tone for the kind of collection one could expect from the brand’s spring/summer 2025 showing.
The vibe: There’s a certain sophistication, yet casualness, that Boss has built over the years, attracting the sort of customer who exudes an air of being both put together yet ready to embrace life’s challenges. This was reflected in the set of the show—ankle-grazing grass anchored by concrete, winding seats— with the stars in attendance culminating at the centre of the location.
What to shop from the collection: Decked out in a tonal grey ensemble—blazer, shirt, and trousers— and toting a yoga mat slung over his shoulder, Mew’s look was one of many delicately layered outfits, showcasing the house’s penchant for the classic and wearable. The menswear proved stronger than the womenswear, with the season’s newest bags taking centre stage: carefully snapped shoulder bags, slung open to reveal keys, sunglasses, and the essentials of summer.
Onitsuka Tiger SS25
Show review in a line:
Designer: Andrea Pompilio
Location: Rotonda della Besana
The vision: It’s always a packed affair at Onitsuka Tiger’s shows in Milan. The Japanese luxury footwear brand has carved out a niche for itself in the fashion world, producing eye-catching, one-of-a-kind kicks that have become cultural emblems of sorts. Andrea Pompilio’s vision has gained various styles traction beyond the iconic Mexico 66 as evidenced by this season’s distressed denim offering.
The vibe: With a set awash in yellow—from sneakers to show-favourite backpacks perched atop winding seats—attendees of the Onitsuka Tiger SS25 show were treated to a sophisticated display of sharp silhouettes and skin-like lace. Celebrities like Twice’s Momo and Thai star Baifern graced the show, with songstress Normani boasting some of the brand’s more fashion-forward pieces, such as an oversized chocolate puffer, skin tight yellow tights and statement heels.
What to shop from the collection: Just like with most of the shows that have already been presented on the circuit over the past two days, tailoring has been a strong focal point this season, and the brand delivered it in its own unique way—with comfortable, statement footwear, of course. Think oversized fuzzy slip-ons and Mary Jane heels, paired with tinsel tops, sheer skirts, and panelled A-line pieces. Perhaps most interesting was Onitsuka Tiger’s introduction of nude, bodycon, wrap dresses—a decidedly more dressy offering that hints at its design shake-up.
