Drunk Elephant Ceramighty™ AF Eye Balm
As someone who struggles with sleeping early (and the associated droopy eyes), eye creams can be a bit of a hit-and-miss. However, Drunk Elephant’s eye cream offering was a welcome new addition to my skincare routine. It’s creamy, moisturising formula helped perk up my dried-up eyes from sleep deprivation, thanks to a combination of oat and ceramides, two skin-loving ingredients great for strengthening and nourishing the thin skin around the eye socket without piling up on top.— Nathalia Kelana, beauty intern

Percy & Reed Give Me Strength Strengthening Shampoo
Strength and hair growth are the two key needs I look for in my haircare products. And Percy & Reed’s Give Me Strength Strengthening Shampoo ticks all the right boxes. Boasting a sulfate- and paraben-free formula that is keratin-rich and lathered with ingredients like aloe vera as well as Sweet White Lupine that stimulates cell metabolism and circulation at the scalp, just a moderate amount can aid with hydrating and rebuilding every stand. It also doesn’t hurt that this daily routine smells divine—with the shampoo infused with essential oils like geranium, grapefruit, sweet orange and rosemary. —Janice Sim, digital editor

Sephora Color Shifter Strange Botanicals Eyeshadow Palette
Full disclosure: I was somewhat skeptical when I first encountered Sephora’s Colour Shifter series of eye palettes. However, their new Strange Botanicals palettes convinced me otherwise. A light swipe gives a love iridescent lavender shade that shifts (no pun intended) into a light blue. Couple it with the matte and shimmery warm browns and I’m treated to bold, yet fully customisable new shades. Aside from having a healthy range of tones to play with, I also found that the heavy pigment allows for versatile intensities for an even wider spectrum of colour-shifting shades. — Nathalia Kelana, beauty intern

Infused with squalane and marine algae, it’s the perfect combination of what I’ll always be looking out for in an eye cream: maximum hydration, smoothening of any fine lines and a soothing finish to cap it off for the night. — Azrin Tan, senior digital writer

Glow Recipe Blackberry Retinol Blemish Serum
I have a love-hate relationship with retinol. With my very sensitive skin, even the tiniest amounts of active ingredients go a very long way for me. So I took things slow with this one: Once a week, then twice, before I finally built my way up to every other night. One pump covers my face and neck in a thin layer but honestly, as with every product from Glow Recipe, its sweet scent can be quite overwhelming. Results-wise, my skin has never looked so plump, so clear, glassy and filled in though, so I’d gladly endure its scent. I did experience some mild dryness, which is to be expected with my skin, but a follow up with some nourishing after care, like a heavy-duty moisturiser, does the trick. – Julia Sam, digital intern

Biossance Pro-Peptide Lip Perfector
Peptides for lip care are having a real moment right now—and this new balm from Biossance is a delicious way to harness their benefits. Thanks to a trio of hydrating skincare ingredients—high-weight hyaluronic acid, squalane and the brand’s trademarked, lip-specific peptide—a quick slick across the lips delivers instant moisture and nourishment that lasts. H2Glow is my translucent go-to (which I also love to apply at night as a treatment) but it’s handily available in two other shades, Supernova and Blush Quartz, that enhance your natural lip colour with a subtle tint. – Dominique Yohanes, contributing beauty writer

Bvlgari Allegra Riva Solare Scented Candle
In a world-first debut, Bvlgari has unveiled their Allegra Art of Living Collection via a high-end pop-up in Changi Airport. Available until 10 November, the pop-up presents a collection of exclusive scented objects for the bath and home, extending from their best-selling Allegra perfumes. My personal favourite is the Riva Solare Scented Candle. Housed in a white, gold-lined jar reminiscent of Roman columns, its refreshing scent of Italian bergamot, neroli essence and musk transports me straight to the sunlit seas of the Italian Riviera. This is as luxe and lingeringly scented as a candle gets. – Dominique Yohanes, contributing beauty writer

Esmi Skin Minerals Skin Treats Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum Ageless
I’m happy to announce that this product lives up to its kooky name, for it feels—and acts like an much-needed oasis on my skin. It boasts a cooling gel-like texture, a welcome treat in the heat. Though in my experience, hyaluronic acid products can be a bit of a hit-or-miss, this serum hits the spot with its quick absorption, and the inclusion of vitamin-rich papaya. If I need something for my dry skin days, I’ve found my new go-to serum for a boost in hydration. — Nathalia Kelana, beauty intern

Kosas Blush is Life Baked Dimensional + Brightening Blush
Kosas founder, Sheena Zadeh-Daly, has spoken at length about her desire to find a blendable powder blush that provides just the perfect amount of pigment; a feat that, it’s safe to say, she has accomplished with the brand’s latest drop. Dubbed the Kosas Blush is Life Baked Dimensional + Brightening Blush, it comes infused with skin-nourishing actives that ensures your complexion stays bright and dewy throughout the day, with its light texture ensuring seamless blending even with just your fingers. My only qualm: its lack of staying power in Singapore’s humidity, with it fading at the slightest provocation despite a healthy helping of primer and setting spray. Still, the sheer variety of gorgeously delectable hues borne from a unique fusion of two different tones makes up for all of it. — Emily Heng, associate beauty editor

Chloé L’Eau de Parfum Intense
Intense doesn’t even begin to describe Chloé’s latest fragrance. The Chloé L’Eau de Parfum Intense is an enveloping, warming scent—one that stays with you long after that first spritz. Whilst exuberant notes of raspberry is what you’ll get upon an initial whiff, the dry down evolves into something much more sensual and voluptuous. A soft musk of cedar; the luscious greens of a rainforest; and that gleaming, velvety touch of cashmeran and rose. All that is to say, consider me whisked away. — Azrin Tan, senior digital writer

Rabanne Million Gold For Her Eau De Parfum
This latest perfume from Rabanne is the house’s approach to fragrance at its best: sensual, exhilarating and innovative. Capturing the surprising effect of warm metal gold overlaying a floral, it initially sparkles with contrasting metallic rose oxide and white flowers. This is followed by a subtly underlying musk base that becomes more apparent with time, creating a deeper impression. A warm, unconventionally feminine must for million dollar babies everywhere. – Dominique Yohanes, contributing beauty writer

1028 Ultra Precision Eyeliner
Humidity often poses challenges to eye make-up, and the Ultra Precision Eyeliner from 1028, and up and coming Taiwanese brand, rises up to the challenge. Boasting a slick, gentle formula, it effectively withstands grease and heat and smudging while maintaining it’s rich pigment, all without drying out the eyelids. As someone who prefers the softer formulas of an eyeliner pencil, this was a pleasant surprise. On top of that, it’s also waterproof, so I can rest easy knowing that it can take on the rainy season’s wetter days.

Guerlain Absolus Allegoria Santal Royal
What was formerly the Absolus d’Orient collection has been reimagined as Absolus Allegoria, a line of eau de parfum absolutes that are some of the headiest scents at Guerlain. Santal Royal is a resplendently classical oriental, centred by a core accord of creamy sandalwood and rose. In the opening, a striking sweetness of candied fruits laced with an animalic edge of leather. The heart of sandalwood reveals itself slowly on the skin, with some plush complexity designed by Guerlain master perfumer Thierry Wasser. A voluptuous rose note that adds lightness, and indolic jasmine woven tightly into a rich base accord of oud—a classic faithfully reimagined. — Gordon Ng, watches & jewellery editor

Anastasia Beverly Hills Volumising Tinted Brow Gel
The soap brow trend might be well and truly over, but that’s not to say that full, defined arches are as well. As of late, I’ve been reaching for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Volumising Tinted Brow Gel to add more texture and dimension to my brows, with its lightweight formula dusting over tiny hairs with ease without weighing it down. The end result: thicker-looking brows that still appear natural, with its comprehensive shade range serving as the cherry on top. Pro tip: the hues actually look darker than how they are in their packaging—especially once they’ve been applied—so go one shade lighter for a perfect match. — Emily Heng, associate beauty editor

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment
The brand’s viral lip mask is now available in a new iteration. This rich, luscious concoction brims with a whole host of firming ingredients designed to help define and plump up pouts, where it drenches kissers in hydration while providing a lifting effect to sagging skin. The incorporation of peony and collagen complexes also means that fine lines are eradicated with continuous use—which is something I noticed after an entire month of sustained usage. My only gripe: the chunky nature of the provided lip spatula that doesn’t allow for a more precise application. Luckily enough, it is a problem easily remedied. — Emily Heng, associate beauty editor

Augustinus Bader The Skin Infusion
Often, our skin weathers through many conditions—from climate exposure, impurities in the air to the daily buildup of make-up. Hence, beyond the routine skincare that we abide by on a daily basis, Augustinus Bader has conceived a 4-week intensive skin reset known as The Skin Infusion. Enabled with the brand’s Advanced TFC8 to impart key vitamins, lipids and proprietary peptides to the skin cells, this cream-based formula subbed as my moisturiser, day and night for an entire month. Using two pumps for a single application, I liked how it was lightweight enough to absorb easily. Within, there’s also a Vitamin D activator to target signs of premature ageing. Gradually, results were evidently prominent—my skin was visibly brighter and firmer.—a testament to a product that plays the long game well. — Janice Sim, digital editor

True, glossy lips are having their moment, and the comfort they offer is a major reason behind it. However, if you think matte lipsticks can’t be comfortable or creamy, think again. Sephora’s fresh take on their cream lip stains delivers long-lasting pigment that stays, even when used as a traditional stain. And it all does it with its plush, creamy formula that feels velvety soft without dehydrating my lips or clinging too tightly. — Nathalia Kelana, beauty intern

Burberry Kisses Liquid Matte Lipstick
Despite my long-standing love for a good lipstick, I’ve always erred towards cream formats rather than matte (yes, even in the powdery days of 2016). Dewy, not drying is my motto. But this Burberry Kisses formula has opened up a world of new possibilities—namely, of the ‘lasts all day’ and ‘provides intense colour’ kind. A single coat in the morning applies creamily and remains comfortable while not budging for hours, thanks to its infusion of hyaluronic acid, kaolin and protective safflower oil. This is matte the modern way, and I’m on board with my chosen shade of Rich Caramel in tow. – Dominique Yohanes, contributing beauty writer

A refreshed look that doesn’t look cakey, thanks to its butter-smooth texture that moves with the skin’s natural creases instead of sit on top of it. — Nathalia Kelana, beauty intern
