Manma Mia, here we go again. My, my, how can we resist the allure of a skirt during summer? A rite of passage for every fashion gurlie as the temperatures hike up, the humble skirt is sneaking its way back into our consciousness. A must-have to own for its sheer ease of slipping into, especially on days when you’re looking to feel the breeze on your skin. Ideal for errands, coffee runs, brunches and yes, even the office.
On the spring/summer 2026 runways, it made its presence known in more ways than one. There was the floral sculptural bubble skirt that played with exaggerated volume at Dior, alongside the sensual barely-there skirt seen at Acne Studios, where risqué sheer layers effortlessly floated down the runway. Utility dressing took centre stage this season through the emergence of the cargo skirt at Isabel Marant and Coach. At the same time, lace and prairie-inspired silhouettes tapped into fashion’s long-standing love affair with the romanticism of the 1970s bohemian spirit.
As the season takes its turn on the axis, we’re starting to witness a slew of summer-ready skirts worthy of our attention. Spotted strutting the streets of the Big Apple was our very own CBK aka Sarah Pidgeon in a crisp Channel low-waist skirt from Matthieu Blazy’s debut collection for the Maison. Then, of course there’s eternal style muse Hailey Bieber, spotted in a chic, all-black pencil silhouette—perfect for a night out.
With so many diverse options appearing across the season, there is surely one for every occasion. Below, Vogue Singapore rounds up an edit of skirt styles to cop now. Carpe diem!
