A new chapter of Singapore fashion is in motion. Vogue Singapore has teamed up with the Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFF) to unveil the inaugural Vogue Singapore x TaFF Innovation Prize.
With a focus on innovation, the Prize is the first of its kind as it spans beyond fashion design. The award celebrates the work and talent of individuals and businesses who have shown skills and creativity in fashion, lifestyle and consumer technology. This includes photographers, videographers, entrepreneurs, software engineers—the list is non-exhaustive when it comes to the hunt for trailblazing talent.
As the future of fashion remains uncertain, Vogue Singapore and TaFF have posed the timely challenge of reimagining our creative ecosystem. From eco-sustainability to the rapid digitalisation of fashion, the Prize seeks to scout emerging businesses and creatives who have identified real-world problems by providing them with the means and support to realise these endeavours—however ambitious.
The Prize is open to Cohorts 1 to 4 of The Bridge Fashion Incubator (TBFI), a 16-week business incubation programme by TaFF that champions fashion, beauty, consumer and retail tech. By taking part in the Vogue Singapore x TaFF Innovation Prize, participants of the Cohorts will be able to carry on their journey by proceeding to the next step of optimising their businesses.
Participants can expect eight weeks of mentoring support from leading local and global experts from media, sustainability, innovation and design. The competition will kick off with Vogue Campus, a two-day intensive boot camp where participants will receive insights, knowledge and guidance from key global experts in the fields of media, design, innovation, sustainability and business.
They will also attend speed networking sessions ahead of two pitching rounds—one to a group of local jury members, and one to a global VIP jury. The competition will culminate in a final pitch presentation, where three finalists will present to an international VIP jury of key industry leaders.
The winner of the Vogue Singapore x TaFF Innovation Prize will stand to win a monetary prize of $15,000, media coverage here on Vogue, first-hand feedback from global industry leaders, as well as introductions to potential investors for funding. The winner of the Prize will then be announced at Vogue Singapore’s one-year celebration this October.
Interested participants can still apply for the TBFI program to participate in the Vogue Singapore x TaFF Innovation Prize. The open call briefing for Cohort 4 is 27 January 2021 and the application deadline is 11 February 2021. Details of the programme and prize can be found on TBFI website at tbfi.asia.
The Vogue x TaFF Innovation Prize is an initiative under the Vogue Singapore Foundation.
