Currently in its 78th edition, the Venice Film Festival is the world’s oldest celebration of artistry and expression through cinematography. Every year, A-list celebrities descend upon the picturesque island of Lido in the Venetian Lagoon, where a selection of highly-anticipated films premiere at the historic Palazzo del Cinema.
Cinematography might be the main purpose of the Venice Film Festival; with the most coveted award, the Golden Lion, presented to the best film screened at the festival. But where we see a gathering of high-profile stars, we also get to witness exciting looks from ready-to-wear to haute couture on some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
In just the first week alone, a strong selection of show-stopping ensembles have already graced its red carpet. At the premiere of her sci-fi epic Dune directed by Denis Villeneuve, Zendaya stunned in a custom wet-look nude dress by Balmain, which she paired with an emerald-set Bulgari necklace. Meanwhile, Pablo Larrain’s Spencer starring Kristen Stewart in the role of the people’s princess has set the scene a twitter with Oscar buzz for her stellar performance. The actress turned heads wearing a mint-green silk Chanel ensemble with lace detailing and a black bow around the waist.
For now, here is a round-up of the best dressed celebrities at Venice Film Festival 2021. We’ll be adding to this list daily, so watch this space.
