When it comes to packing for a holiday, the process can feel a little daunting. Depending on your destination, there are myriad factors to consider, and that mental load can quickly make things seem a lot more complicated than they actually are. The secret hack? Start with a few trustworthy basics, then build the rest of your looks around them.
And speaking of reliable basics, UNIQLO has plenty to choose from. There are scarves and beanies for layering up, warm outerwear for colder days and, of course, its HEATTECH Extra Warm Cashmere Blend tops, which can make a world of difference when it comes to regulating body temperature without piling on too many layers. Most styles also come in multiple shades, which means there is no shortage of options to work into your wardrobe.
Winter, especially, is a completely different packing game. Now, you are not only planning outfits you actually want to wear, but also figuring out how not to freeze your toes off in the process. For many, the two can feel mutually exclusive. Find the right pieces, though, and you can stay comfortable while still keeping it à la mode. Once the practical foundations are sorted, there is plenty of room to work with what comes next. A day spent outdoors might call for a packable PUFFTECH Jacket, or a functional Padded Blouson, while a Fleece Cardigan works just as well for staying cosy indoors. A play on hues can take the look in a different direction entirely, whether you keep things soft with pastel shades or lean into deeper, richer tones, with accessories adding another layer of character to the final look.
Whether it is flying out for fashion week, heading on a press trip or checking into a hotel or resort for a story, travelling as an editor often means working on the go, with packed itineraries leaving little time to deliberate over what to wear. The pieces that make the suitcase, then, need to work equally hard: functional enough to see you through long days and changing temperatures, while still looking put-together wherever the schedule takes you. It is precisely where UNIQLO’s easy layers, outerwear, basics, as well as accessories come into their own.
Below, peruse the looks they’re packing into their carryall, alongside the travel hacks they swear by.
