It can be argued that the myriad of advancements in technology is a double-edged sword. With heightened convenience and efficacy comes job displacements brought about by the advent of A.I. tech; ethical concerns surrounding online privacy; and even a dehumanisation of certain services and interactions. And while the relationship between tech and the beauty realm proves to be just as layered and complex, there is something to be said about the innovations, devices, treatments, and that have emerged within the realm as of late. From full-body muscle relaxation utilising specific colour waves to painless extractions, it is safe to say that 2023 is brimming with promise when it comes to full-body massages, facials, and the like. Bearing this in mind, Vogue Singapore‘s editorial team ventured out into the beauty scene to review the latest and greatest in treatments designed to address a variety of concerns.
This month, we look to La Prairie for a sensorial, indulgent facial designed to tighten and lift the contours of an individual’s mien; Rationale for an enzyme-infused, pampering session utilising cutting-edge techniques; as well as IDS for a pain- and fuss-free laser that promises instantaneous results.
Whether you’re dealing with sensitive, sagging, or dry skin, or simply craving a well-deserved sensorial pampering session for the day, peruse the best beauty facials, treatments, and more to try in Singapore, as recommended by Vogue Singapore’s beauty desk.

La Prairie Caviar Indulgence Facial, $280 for 60 minutes at La Prairie ION
Who it’s catered for: Anyone who has observed skin sagging and a drastic drop in facial elasticity. Alternatively, the massage components also makes it suitable for those who are looking to unwind whilst also getting a facial in.
Vogue’s review: The one word that would succinctly sum up a La Prairie facial is, undoubtedly, immersive. It is in the little details: the hypnotic quality of my therapist’s voice informing me that I am currently lounging in the distant mountains of the Swiss Alps; the sound of wind whistling through the trees being fed over the speakers; and even the warm towels being laid on my face and back. What followed soon after was a 60-minute skincare ceremony, of which employs the brand’s iconic caviar line to lift, hydrate, and firm. As with most facials, it began with a cleanse, and proceeded with toning, a peel, and a mask—but unlike other experiences in the market, the La Prairie Caviar Indulgence Facial doesn’t rely on devices or tech to infuse skin with a healthy glow. Instead, everything is dependent on the strength of its product and the facialist’s skill. This translates to a highly relaxing session where one’s visage feels like it is being rubbed, moulded, and kneaded to submission.
The session concluded with a shoulder and back massage that unwound all existing knots and tensions radiating through my form. When the lights came on, it was clear to see—even with my sleep-addled vision—that my skin was now brighter and bouncier to touch. A solid indication that maybe newfangled tech isn’t always the answer? Perhaps. La Prairie has made an advocate out of me, at any rate.

IDS SW Tyte Laser, $1,250 for 1 session at IDS Clinic
Who it’s catered for: In terms of long-term results, the SW Tyte Laser is great for individuals struggling with a loss of facial density, volume, or tightness. As for discernible outcomes right off the get-go, this treatment is perfect for folks with dull, sallow complexions looking for an immediate pick-me-up.
Vogue’s review: Touted as the gold standard for non-invasive light treatments, the SW Tyte Laser provides a reassuring, comfortable experience that differs vastly from traditional laser procedures. Firstly, numbing cream is optional, though it can be provided if requested for. Unlike pico variants, no form of pain is expected—instead, I am told that the only sensations felt will be a slight warmth and pressure. And while mild redness and flushing is a likely side effect, it is rare for said effects to linger past an hour. Bolstered by what sounded like a relatively moderate aftermath, I requested for the treatment to commence immediately after my visage was cleansed of make-up.
As promised, there were no pin-pricks of pain or stinging that came with the laser. The only form of discomfort was the heat being emitted from the device, which is best described as a warm compress being glided repeatedly over the face. Cooling gel was applied to my mien before the treatment, which did exacerbate the heat fanning across my face. Granted, I didn’t have to deal with the heightened temperature for long—the procedure was over within 15 minutes, and I emerged with a radiant, brighter countenance. My flushed complexion was easily concealed with make-up, and I was soon able to walk out of the clinic and back to the office without incurring any double takes. In short: the ideal lunch-time treatment for anyone looking to achieve big results with minimal payout.

Rationale Brilliance Glow Facial, $195 for 45 minutes at Rationale
Who’s it catered for: Individuals who have combination skin and/or looking for a long-term approach to skin solutions.
Vogue’s review: Hailing from Australia, Rationale believes in the diligence and personalisation of skincare regimes. One size does not fit all when it comes to attaining good, healthy skin. And its Brilliance Glow Facial serves as an extension of its bespoke approach. At its flagship in Raffles City, their spacious treatment rooms serve as a sensorial cocoon with the luxury touches of a spa. Everything is kept dimmed, rooms are bigger than the usual to provide a sense of space to the senses, not forgetting the highlight falling on the massive bed. It’s a bed that renders one instantly sated—speaking from personal experience—as my therapist began the session with deep, deft massage strokes to cleanse and remove all traces of make-up and impurities. Then, she applied the Enzyme Reactivation, but not before checking in on my experience with active ingredients. This step not only preps the skin for the other vitamins to follow but also resurfaces the skin’s texture. After which, a Vitamin Mask and Oil is expertly laid on to calm the complexion—enhanced by a relaxing massage sequence that did trigger my body into a brief restorative sleep. It was only until midway through the LED Light Therapy that my eyes flew open and just in time to experience the hand and arm massages. It’s possibly the most calming, invigorating facial I’ve had to date, with my skin looking visibly brighter with a glowy sheen. True enough that I could even head out confidently bare-faced for a social gathering right after.
From now till 30 September, all bookings will come with a complimentary 15-minute upgrade of extended LED Light Therapy and hand and arm massage.

RF Microneedling Scar Treatment at Ensoul Medical Clinic
Who it’s catered for: Those suffering from acne scars and skin fraught with hyperpigmentation.
Vogue’s review: Rest assured that you’ll always find yourself in safe hands at Ensoul Medical Clinic. With its extensive range of laser treatments and a full suite of energy-based devices at its disposal, the clinic can pour its focus into customising in-depth treatment plans for each individual.
In order to target the acne scars and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation my countenance is often plagued with, founder Dr Kenneth Thean prescribed me with Ensoul’s RF (Radio Frequency) Microneedling Scar Treatment—a session that might take up to two hours depending on your skin’s reaction to a topical numbing cream applied pre-treatment. It’s rare that a microneedling treatment lends to little or almost no pain at all during the session, so I was pleasantly surprised to note that my aesthetician managed to ensure all I would feel was a warm, buzzing sensation from the micro-sized needles penetrating my skin’s epidermal surface. Through these electrode jolts, the treatment serves to remodel the skin from within; working as a catalyst for natural collagen production in order to rebuild the skin’s inner structures.
I was relieved to find that despite the warm, numbing sensation that lasted into the night post-treatment, the slight swell and redness had gone down by the morning after and applying make-up on my visage proved to be no issue. As for my overall complexion? Whilst more sessions would undeniably lend to more optimal results, it was noticeably brighter and more even-toned—with my present scars visibly less depressed.

Omakase Facial, $90 for 70 minutes at Peachy Skin Bar
Who’s it catered for: Novices to facials
Vogue’s review: Peachy Skin Bar eschews all barriers to entry with its refreshing take on the facial scene in Singapore. No frills, no walls and no packages. It’s an ideal address for those who are intimidated by the idea of facials—be it painful extractions or aggressive upselling. While its treatment menu holds a wide range to choose from, the Omakase Facial leaves the treatment plan entirely in the hands of your adept therapist.
It starts with a quick assessment of the skin condition, then a customised facial to commence. Based off my personal needs that revolved around a dull and tired complexion, my detailed therapist started off with an Enzyme mask, that was paired with a neck and décolletage massage. After a mild extraction to remove impurities and blackheads, the session resumed with a Collagen Oxygen Spray that activates the skin, enabling the nutrients and ingredients to penetrate deeper. After which, a collagen concentrate went hand in hand with an ultrasound therapy. Between the steps, massages were peppered throughout—for my skin to absorb the nutrients while also lulling me in and out of blissful bouts of sleep. To end off the session, a Saborino V-B3 wrinkle care mask (one of the facial bar’s collaboration with the Japanese skincare brand) was applied, alongside a honey collagen eye mask to reduce my fine lines. The 90-minute session left my skin feeling rejuvenated, supple and glowier, while also leaving me with more insight on my current skin condition, thanks to the patient and gentle therapist who explained how each chosen step could help my skin.
