Doona! is here and she’s fabulous. Starring the inimitable Suzy and Yang Se-jong of Temperature of Love fame as its main leads Lee Doona and Lee Won-jun, the South Korean drama has been a highly-anticipated one for its A-list cast alone. Based on the popular webtoon The Girl Downstairs, the K-drama release may have just hit Netflix over the weekend but has already clinched a spot in the streaming site’s Top 10 list. What can we say? Between the mystifying atmosphere in which some of the scenes are shot in, the undeniable chemistry shared by our endearing couple and the intriguing build-up surrounding the mysterious idol life of Doona, there’s been plenty of on-screen moments worthy of a replay throughout the nine-episode narrative.

Adding to the brewing romance between our leading cast members, the drama adaptation also clearly had a joyous time in dreaming up the visuals for Doona’s character, who’s an ex-member of idol group Dream Sweet. Think a smorgasbord of everything imaginable, from high-octane idol get-ups to beauty looks that would convey the effortless nonchalance she carries in her private life. For even as Doona attempts to embrace an ordinary lifestyle, there’s no question that the aftereffects of living in the public eye are still palpably felt. Her flirtatious encounters with Won-jun are given the devil’s detail with a flurry of hair accessories and pinked pout; her overarching sense of ennui in the night club only emboldened by a pair of smoked-up peepers. Every moment in which Doona appears is proof enough that there’s clear fun to be had in the hair and make-up department—notably enhanced by Suzy Bae’s irresistible appeal and that fresh hime haircut she sports throughout the series.

Born to be a star
If there’s one capture that is reminiscent of Suzy’s past identity as an idol herself, it’s the ones where Doona flashbacks to her life of stardom on the stage. Just as a top idol would be, her mane is exquisitely parted and styled, whilst she adorns a glamorous dotting of blush and sparkled peepers on her mien.

Switching up the charm
Ta-da, Doona finally manages to court Won-jun into having a meal with her—and she certainly turns up her flirtatious side for this particular moment. To remain in disguise at his university, she dolls up just enough to stay under the radar but her perfect beach waves, lifted lashes and spot of pink on her pout are enough to make her the apple of everyone’s eye.

Straighten up
Time to get down to business. Dawning an elevated twist for her hime hair cut—Doona’s bangs and tresses are straightened out and she opts for a peachy-nude hue on her lips instead.

Head in the game
No stopping Doona when it comes to playing dress up even in her own home. For her messy baking session, she wears a voluminous headband that may seem rather simple but is colour-coordinated to her white baby tee.

That girl next door
She may just be living in the apartment downstairs, but she surely knows how to play the part of the ideal girl next door. As their on-screen romance blossoms, her pout is enlivened by a very smoochable cherry-red.

Lights out
Conflict brews and Doona throws herself into the ultimate environment of chaos in K-drama land: the night club. To mirror her internal distress, she opts for a pair of smoky lids and a sharp liner flick.

The idol makeover
Post time-skip, and it’s a new era for Doona. Only fair that it’s something encapsulated through a sophisticated updo and brick red lip she wears during her fan sign.
