At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, immediately after Paris Fashion Week, Saint Laurent was one of the first luxury houses to announce that it would “take control of its pace and reshape its schedule”, opting not to follow any of the fashion week schedules for 2020.
For its spring/summer 2021 show, Anthony Vaccarello is set to showcase his vision of the Saint Laurent woman through a video that will be released tonight. The teaser images and videos that the brand has dropped on its social media channels seem to hint towards the desert, cacti, and what seems to be Yves Saint Laurent’s much beloved Villa Oasis in the Majorelle Gardens, Marrakech, as a backdrop. Will the entire video be set in the late couturier’s richly-textured escape? Is it a hark back to the halcyon days of fashion and travel?
