Moving on from Milan, Paris’s spring/summer 2023 menswear shows are in full swing. The fashion trends that have emerged so far? Matching separates and sporty headwear such as balaclavas and bucket hats, courtesy of Givenchy and Isabel Marant. VTMNTS and Egonlab—a gender-neutral label based in Paris—presented looks featuring ultra-cropped shorts paired with knee-high boots, while fashion houses such as Bluemarble and Bianca Saunders proved that vivid hues of blue, violet, green and orange previously seen on the fall/winter 2022 runways are here to stay.
These trends have translated to the city’s streets. Spotted in the crowd of stylish showgoers: graffitied denim co-ords along with eye-catching crocheted tops and hats. Everyday basics were elevated, too. Think: baggy, ripped denim tucked into high-top sneakers, paired with oversized tops. Statement pieces such as fur coats and patterned kilts came into the spotlight when matched with shirts or bottoms of muted shades. The street style stars’ accessories of choice? Oversized top-handle totes, wraparound sunglasses and layered beaded necklaces.
