With the undeniable prominence of fast fashion and online shopping in today’s society, it is now easier than ever to make careless, impulsive purchases. This rampant form of over-consumption has led to many facing the ongoing conundrum of having to deal with a cluttered wardrobe. A full wardrobe makes it seemingly impossible to locate certain articles of clothing, leading to pieces being easily misplaced or forgotten. Additionally, the stifling humidity of our tropical climate tends to wreck the condition of many sartorial favourites.
Introducing PAKT, a unique service revolutionising wardrobe organisation and management. Founded in Hong Kong in 2015, the leading service is opening in Singapore to save us from our overwhelming wardrobes. It boasts various key functions ranging from specialised storage in climate-controlled zones to circular solutions such as reselling of pre-loved items, all accessible through a personalised app.

PAKT’s ambassador is Hong-Kong based fashion stylist and creative consultant, Kim Bui Kollar. Recounting her experience discovering PAKT three years ago, she describes it as a ‘pinch me’ moment. Kollar muses: “My digitised wardrobe can be organised with a touch of my smartphone, it’s amazing. The future has truly been reimagined with this newfound efficiency.”
Having started her career as a young stylist in the heart of Los Angeles, Kollar worked with lauded fashion designer Phillip Lim to launch his eponymous label 3.1 Phillip Lim. Following her position as style director at the brand, she relocated to Hong Kong for personal reasons and worked as the Director of Fashion and Special Projects at Pedder Group, Lane Crawford. Eventually, Kollar started image-engineering agency Banck Creative, specialising in curation projects for brands and retail groups.
“Through PAKT, I am able to maintain and keep an organised archive collection which is fantastic for my creative consultation work.”
Elaborating on how the service has aided her work, she says: “Through PAKT, I am able to maintain and keep an organised archive collection which is fantastic for my creative consultation work.” She emphasises the benefits that climate-controlled storage brings to maintaining garment quality, explaining:“My white vintage pieces don’t turn yellow with time and my leathers don’t get musty or mouldy. All the vintage fur numbers do not smell or start to bald because they are kept in a dedicated room at a specific temperature.”

The arduous process of client fittings has also been streamlined, with PAKT’s app allowing Kollar to see what’s in her client’s wardrobes. She extols the app’s in-built functions, stating:“From my phone I can make selections of pieces to be sent to clients, and the respective fittings can be done through photos or a video call. It has made my work as a stylist that much smoother and easier.”
“PAKT allows me to keep, archive and catalogue all my pieces, so I don’t have to eliminate anything because of space.”
The service’s acute attention to detail has also made it painless for Kollar to manage her personal wardrobe. “I live in Hong Kong but haven’t yet given up my New York sensibilities. I have a coat addiction, specifically trench coats. I also love collecting knitwear and over-the-knee boots in all kinds of materials. PAKT allows me to keep, archive and catalogue all my pieces, so I don’t have to eliminate anything because of space.” With the abundance of storage, she has been able to curate an extensive archive of the pieces she wears and uses for her creative outlets.
PAKT also ensures that stored items are packed and delivered seamlessly. Kollar shares: “When I am travelling to a cold weather region, I just choose what I want delivered. PAKT is great for all the gowns and also all the family ski gear,” All items undergo a condition inspection, with repair and dry-cleaning options should the garments require it.

Kollar also delves into what makes PAKT the pioneer in wardrobe management, highlighting: “PAKT understands the importance of care and management but also the ease of accessibility. It feels like the future, nothing short of utmost convenience and efficiency.” She notes that PAKT has helped her gain a deeper understanding of her purchasing decisions. “Because of PAKT I feel like I have more time, more space, and a great handle on my wardrobe situation, as my clothes are well taken care of and I am buying less because I know exactly what I have and where it is.”
Apart from PAKT’s versatility and innovation in storage and management, an extension of the service is the ability to sell one’s pre-loved clothing. Customers can purge their wardrobe in an efficient manner, eliminating the hassle usually required with manually uploading the items for sale repeatedly on various sites. Kollar shares similar sentiments, highlighting: “It’s so easy for me now to sell items I no longer need or love, playing my part in contributing to circular fashion. When I look through my pre-PAKT wardrobe days, it is easy to spot impulse buys. That has dwindled down now that the app allows me to take stock of everything I own with a single swipe.”

“PAKT understands the importance of care and management but also the ease of accessibility.”
This function is in line with PAKT’s commitment to fashion circularity through conscious purchasing, as well as extending the lifespan of the pieces we own. Responsible consumption has always been at the forefront of Kollar’s mind and she feels that adding a sharing or rental service within the app would be a welcome feature. “From what I have noticed, there is always a mad scramble among the community when there is a big event that requires an evening dress. Those dresses can be big-ticket items with a relatively high wear per cost. Through PAKT, friends and clients could opt to share wardrobes with each other seamlessly.” PAKT’s ability to offer unlimited storage and unparalleled convenience provides the perfect opportunity to get all personal wardrobes organised once and for all.
