There are few fashion trends that have outlived the 2010s—and athleisure is a strong contender that has secured its place as a mainstay in our wardrobes. As loungewear and athleisure continue to pique our collective need for comfort and style, count on Willow Smith, Onitsuka Tiger’s brand ambassador, to put a new spin on the now-pervasive category.

Fronting the label’s spring/summer 2021 collection, the 20-year-old got in touch with her spiritual side and took to her yoga practice as a point of inspiration for the campaign. “To me, yoga is a practice which brings me closer to myself so that I can still my mind enough to build my relationship with The Divine,” says Smith. “I’m grateful that I could show these beautiful, unique garments in a way that’s so fulfilling for me.”

The label may be best known for its Mexico 66 sneakers, but the campaign sees Smith in the Tai-Chi-Reb Sock MT, a sock-sneaker that feels at once elevated but seriously functional. Designed by creative director, Andrea Pompilio, the collection is a Gen Z take on an everyday wardrobe. Our personal favourites? The sleek matching set rendered in a quintessential ‘80s teal, and the black nylon twill coat with the label’s signature logo, worn cinched at the waist, styled with a crisp white button-up.

“While the world is changing at an unprecedented speed, Willow continues to offer new values to society without losing her shining individuality,” says the communication team of the brand. “This campaign gives us hope that there are no limits to the diversity of fashion, and that everyone can truly enjoy fashion in their own unique way, whether on the go or at home, regardless of location, age, or gender.”
