It’s equal parts edgy, feminine, and effortlessly sensual, and maybe that’s the magic of it. So, what is it about a slinky slip that has us reaching for them again and again? Perhaps because it refuses to pick a side. One moment it’s seductive, the next it’s undeniably classy. From the runways to the streets, we’re convinced that lace-trimmed dresses are here to stay.
At the fall/winter 2025 runways, fashion houses favoured the lace one-pieces, with Gucci veering sweet with their pink-coloured dresses, while Saint Laurent played with volume and textures. Yet one can’t possibly discuss the lace trim dress revival without bringing Chemena Kamali’s name into the picture. From flirty minis to romantic maxis, lace made frequent appearances on Chloé‘s runway.
This too spilled over to our favourite It girls. A quick scroll through Instagram reveals the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Alexandra Saint Mieux, and Elsa Hosk, all sporting a lace-trimmed dress with sheer ease. Cementing her cool girl status further over in New York was one effortlessly stylish Hailey Bieber. Spotted in a head-to-toe YSL look, the Rhode CCO’s sleek LBLD proved to be perfect for a night out. And just when we thought we’d seen it all, Charli XCX gave us something entirely new to be obsessed with. Attending the Toronto International Film Festival, the Grammy-award winning singer turned heads in a romantic sage green lace trim dress from Saint Laurent.
