Of the four Blackpink members, Jisoo has arguably always been the most secretive. Moving in silence for the most of last year, the K-pop songstress has kept her time in the music studio under wraps despite the triumphant success of her debut solo single ‘Flower’ back in 2023. When she finally announced her long-awaited comeback with her first EP Amortage and its title track ‘Earthquake’ —her first music reveal under self-founded label Blissoo—we had no idea what to expect, from its sound and visuals to, of course, the fashion.
From the first frame of the ‘Earthquake’ music video however, it becomes clear that the singer is going a completely different direction—style-wise, at least. Playing the role of an office worker going through the daily grind, Jisoo trades the colourful, hyper-feminine ensembles of ‘Flower‘ for simple, monochromatic looks, completed by neat, tailored silhouettes (for the most part). Where she previously donned floral prints and layers of ruffles, she now sports sharp black blazers and collared blouses. The epitome of corporate-core, Jisoo’s ‘Earthquake’ fashion choices are only elevated by a dazzling twist in the form of sparkling diamante ties and ornate brooches.
As Dior‘s golden girl, it’s no surprise to spot the Blackpink singer repping the brand throughout the four-minute clip, from her beauty beat to the vintage brooch she adorns her necktie with. Elsewhere in the video, Jisoo adds an air of opulence to her look with elaborate Vivienne Westwood jewellery pieces, including an elegant pearl necklace and a pair of sparkling diamante earrings. As the main action starts to happen during a choreography scene, she dons an all-black ensemble by rising Georgian brand Lado Bokuchava, giving the singer a lethal, femme fatale edge rarely seen from the Blackpink vocalist.
