Marine Serre’s crescent moon print has become a form of Gen-Z currency. Seen scattered across the sci-fi catsuits, second-skin long-sleeve tops and tights endorsed by the likes of Dua Lipa, Rosalía and Beyoncé, Serre’s instantly recognisable pattern has sky-rocketed the designer to cult status.

Now, the motif is decorating the surfaces of Jimmy Choo footwear, as Marine Serre embarks upon a collaboration with the storied shoemaker.

“She’s very much the champion of a new way of thinking about the future in fashion, and that drew me to her,” says creative director Sandra Choi, who first met the French designer back in 2019. Serre arrived wearing a vintage pair of Jimmy Choo boots–the 5cm-heel Faro style from autumn/winter 2000–which she had spent hours searching for on the internet. “It’s one of the few shoes like this–pointed, high-heeled–that’s comfortable, that you can bike in. So I thought: okay, it would be interesting to meet with Sandra and Jimmy Choo, to see what we can do together,” Serre says.
