Another Swedish homeware behemoth has landed onto our home turf, and it’s surprisingly, a household name. After all, you might have already had several brushes with H&M Home during holiday seasonal occasions or visited their modish outposts abroad. Now, the retail giant will officially house its interiors and home line within the renewed H&M flagship store at Orchard in Singapore.
Making up its own dedicated part of the first floor with a separate entrance, one can access H&M Home via Ladies’ section, stepping into a grand assortment of its living, bath, bedroom and kids products. True to H&M’s modern and minimalistic and at times, eclectic styles, its Home offerings mirror that—with interior collections ranging from quirky geometric shapes and prints to rustic elements of wood. Other choices on hand like elegant, sturdy metals and statement marble objects will also instantly spruce up your home.
This isn’t the only change customers can expect to see within the flagship store. A step further into a digitised shopping experience, expansive screens will be installed across the store while QR codes on posters invite shoppers to play and engage while learning more about H&M’s products and initiatives. One of which, involves an AR world to interact with, featuring the brand’s recycling and garment collecting programme. There will also be inviting open lounge areas designed to serve as a welcome respite between the fervent browsing and shopping.

The exciting refurbishment coincides with H&M’s next step in its sustainability efforts—by way of a brand new store fabric facade, in the form of the Veil made from an iMesh textile, which happens to be the first in Asia. An intuitive structure made out of high-performance fibres, that generates zero waste during its make process. It is also a dynamic surface that reveals multiple facades, while reinforcing the brand’s relationship with textiles. In the day, the Veil might look like a plain, white canvas, but upon closer look, it then changes to a translucent sheen to reveal the H&M experience. Come night time and the Veil will shine like an illuminating shield, as vibrant colours and customisable light effects work together to bring the whole structure to life.
