The year is 2024, and the grip quiet luxury has over the masses continues to hold strong. See: the multitude of powerful, minimalistic ensembles spotted at the Grammys red carpet from the likes of Sofia Richie Grainge and Gracie Adams, as well as the array of timeless updos that were heavily featured on the haute couture spring/summer 2024 runways. And not forgetting the pop culture sphere, of course—South-Korean revenge fantasy drama, Marry My Husband, brimmed with standout sartorial fits that exuded a pared-back, polished charm, alongside Nicole Kidman-fronted drama, Expats. This, however, begs the question: is this phenomenon in 2024 a continuation of the same stealth wealth aesthetic, or has it evolved in some shape and form? In the case of Hermès, it seems the latter holds true with the latest iterations of Rouge Hermès and Les Mains Hermès from their spring-summer 2024 collection.
A paradisiac pout
“With the Rouge Hermès spring-summer 2024 limited-edition collection, we explore colour in its purest expression. The shades are rich, generous and bold. Applied to the lips, they illuminate the face with their matte, light-absorbing finish and attract attention with their temperament, both joyous and assertive. A true style statement,” explains Gregoris Pyrpylis, creative director of Hermès Beauty.

Think three new electrifying hues, encased within a slim vessel that amalgamates a set of intricate discs—all of which are adorned in a colour palette that speaks to a renewed interpretation of quiet luxury. Each case harbours either a striking amethyst, aquamarine or sunshine yellow band, granting a burst of joyous colour and radiance to the iconic Rouge Hermès. Choose from 47 Rouge Cinétique, a deep red; 41 Rose Pop, a fluorescent pink; and 44 Orange Neon, a fiery coral. These richly decadent pigments are described to be “radical, radiant, and resplendent,” designed to define a user’s pout and elevate their smile. The messaging behind this limited edition line-up is clear: an unabashed embracing and conveying of joy that doesn’t compromise on Hermès’s luxurious sensibilities.
Talon time
This season’s Les Mains Hermès is given the same treatment. For the first time, its caps come in a wash of colour to assert a vivid contrast. Three new shades are available: 62 Bleu Électrique, a lively blue equipped with a stark yellow lid; 48 Ultraviolet, a dense purple accompanied by a sunset orange topper; and 36 Orange Tonique, a summery coral which is contrasted against a cobalt cap.
Pyrpylis further elaborates. “Three cheerful and dynamic new shades of nail enamel that invite playful application, either monochrome or in combination, to suit the wearer’s state of mind,” she states, when asked to describe the newest additions to the Les Mains Hermès family. “Hues that are so radiant they can colour the mood. A pure manifestation of joy.”
