It feels almost silly to say, but diamonds are back in a big way. At the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, the perennial precious gemstone shone with renewed glamour. Big, honking solitaire rings, encrusted statement bracelets, or dainty and simple necklace styles—diamonds ruled the night.
There were exceptions, of course: Parker Posey hamming it up with a fabulous three-row pearl and morganite choker by Sabyasachi high jewellery, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas with a sapphire Bvlgari necklace, for example. But diamonds, far and away, were the style of choice at the Golden Globes, the first major stop of the Awards Season circuit.
Elle Fanning, for instance, wore the Pavocelle necklace from Cartier’s latest En Équilibre high jewellery collection. Interestingly, she chose to swap the cabochon sapphire originally meant for the necklace for a pear diamond at its centre—transforming its graphic, coloured gemstone centre into a more abstract, twinkling piece. Newly minted Boucheron ambassador Colman Domingo, meanwhile, arrived with a profusion of diamond ivy leaves climbing up and across the left side of his jacket.
The diamond as a statement centre stone in itself has also emerged as a trend to watch. A solitaire ring, it seems, has evolved beyond engagement marker to become a style statement. Ditto Connor Storrie, star of Heated Rivalry, with a Tiffany Bird on a Rock brooch set with an emerald-cut diamond.
