It’s the meeting of two wholly different worlds. On one hand, vibrant, colour-blocking hues adorn the space, resembling a quirky living room stacked with various scents and home essentials. On the other side, an alluring, high luxury French boudoir setting beholds a makeshift bar where one can order a cocktail of scents. When paired next to each other through an open door, it’s hard not to find the juxtaposition intriguing, especially when inducted in the opulent and ultra-luxurious universes of Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle and Kilian Paris’s respective flagship stores at Raffles City. “We are thrilled to announce the opening of our two new flagship stores in Raffles City, showcasing the latest design innovations from both Frédéric Malle and Kilian Paris. These two new Boutiques mark a significant step in our continuous work to elevate the customer experience in Singapore. We couldn’t be prouder to share our unique fragrances with this vibrant community,” remarks Camille Munnich, Head of APAC for the Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle and Kilian Paris.
Into the wonderland of Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle
A touch of whimsy, an interlude of sensory play; while disparate, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle has always been known to bring its master perfumers and playful touch points together. Its new home in Raffles City introduces a fresh design concept, one that hasn’t been seen anywhere else. Mirroring its stores in Paris, the vivid colours of red, the iconic hue of Editions de Parfums and blue, emblematic of the home collection merge to welcome its visitors with a certain joie de vivre. At the entrance, an inquisitive olfactive pyramid on the wall prods you to find your own signaturecscent—guided by notes that go from light to sharp and dark to deep.

Other creative areas of discovery include a terrazzo block featuring the many compositions from the house that encourage visitors to learn, smell and touch the various scents, as well as a beautiful wall display mimicking a library stacked with books co-created with the master perfumers as well as the many fragrances. Beyond eau de parfums, the brand’s home line is also well stocked with linen sprays and scented rubber incense and stylish diffusers. An honorary mention goes out to a true Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle signature, the smelling columns is where one can get a whiff of its best-selling scents by opening a mirror-like flask. But if you’re truly spoilt for choice, and unsure of whether to go for the patchouli-driven Portrait of a Lady or the heady Carnal Flower, take the brand’s unique ‘Make a Match’ questionnaire that matches your personality to your desired scent.

A Kilian Paris spell to fall under
Sexy, alluring and extravagant are the words we would use to describe Kilian Paris. And if you can’t take our word for it, its new store in Raffles City is testament to that. Awashed in black and peppered with gold hardware, the space emanates the Kilian Paris DNA in its homeland addresses. A niche fragrance brand that appeals to every singular taste out there, its array of scents embody the ‘Don’t Be Shy’ house motto that greets you at its entrance, encouraging its patrons to never hold back when it comes to exploring the sensorial space. Intrinsically linked to its founder, Kilian Hennessy, descendant of one of the most illustrious French dynasties in fine liquor, it’s no surprise why its interiors are punctuated with fixtures like a Kilian Bar as well as its display bottles mimicking whisky decanters. In fact, the house’s hero scent, ‘Angels’ Share’, was inspired by Hennessy’s childhood growing up among his family’s centuries old cognac cellars in the southwest of France. As part of ‘The Liquors’ line in its fragrance arsenal, this caramel-hued elixir comprises the essence of Cognac as well as blend of oak absolute, cinnamon essence and sweet Tonka bean.

By the bar, its array of products are neatly categorised into ‘The Fresh’, ‘The Narcotics’, ‘The Cellars’, ‘The Smokes’ and ‘The Liquors’, as visitors can order a ‘shot’ of their preferred scent, whilst sitting on a plush velvet stool. Those who are well acquainted with the house would know this; the potions at Kilian are designed to seduce, glamour and signify a good time—from ‘Love, Don’t Be Shy’ and ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’. Customisation options? In the form of an opulent evening clutch. One thing’s for sure, being under the influence of Kilian Paris can never be a bad habit.
